Nurses are resilient. But resilience was never supposed to mean working exhausted, skipping breaks, accepting unsafe workloads and somehow still being expected to perform like nothing is wrong. The ANA is calling nurse fatigue a patient safety crisis, not simply an individual problem. So nurses, I have thoughts… have we confused resilience with asking nurses to tolerate too much? 👇

When did being threatened, screamed at, hit, kicked or assaulted become “part of the job” in nursing?
