Today is the day my world stopped, if only for a moment.
I want to dedicate this post to my incredible service dog, Wilson.
Wilson was a service dog to my special-needs daughter, Kaitlynn, but his purpose extended far beyond that. He took care of our entire family in his own quiet, devoted way. He loved each of us differently, yet deeply, and the bond we shared with him is one I have never experienced with any other animal.
His passing was peaceful, yet completely unexpected. Wilson had an extremely rare form of cancer, one that shows no symptoms, not even in bloodwork, and is often only discovered when it’s already too late. The veterinary team did everything they possibly could, but ultimately, God had other plans.
Wilson did his job, and he did it beautifully. He was the most well-trained, best-behaved service dog, steady, loyal, and full of heart. He was my best friend, and everyone who knew him will feel this loss.
We love you, Wilson. I hope you’re running free in Heaven, tennis ball in tow. Until we meet again. 🐾🤍
