Vacation in Puerto Rico was incredible and far beyond any expectation I had. To say I’m grateful for the opportunity to experience new places and different cultures, seek adventures and take restorative rest, connecting to and back to life doesn’t even touch the gratitude in my heart for it.
And of course I took a ton of pictures. My phone kept telling me to clean the lens, clean the lens, clean the lens. Sunscreen and fingerprints were prevalent during those six glorious days. Repeating it out loud became a little joke between us. Repeating it to myself became a mantra I’ll now forever carry with me. 🌴
Scrolling through my picture carousel I noticed the extreme differences between the blurry photos versus the clearer ones. Same pic, totally different result. It made me wonder how often we move through life the same way. Seeing through stress and old wounds. Through fear, projection, exhaustion, people pleasing, survival mode. And noise!!
There’s a certain weight to the stories we carry, and the magnitude of perception is hard to explain, but you’ll feel a shift when it happens. The way we experience our inner and outer worlds depends on the lens we’re looking through. Sometimes we’re looking through a lens that needs care. We’ll need different things on different days and seasons of life. But the significance of honoring where you are, and what you need is ever present.
Keep inspired,
