I used to think feeling worse after exercise meant I was just out of shape.
So I pushed.
Then I crashed.
Then I felt guilty for needing rest.
And the cycle kept repeating.
The fitness world tells us soreness means progress, but it rarely explains the difference between muscle soreness and a flare-up.
Soreness feels like your muscles worked.
A flare-up feels like your whole system got overloaded.
More fatigue.
More pain.
Brain fog.
Poor sleep.
That heavy, inflamed, “why do I feel sick after trying to be healthy?” feeling.
That is not weakness.
That is your body giving you information.
The goal is not to survive a workout.
The goal is to choose movement your body can recover from, repeat, and build on.
That is how strength comes back.

👉🏼Did your workout challenge your muscles… or steal from your tomorrow?

I used to think intense workouts were the “real” workouts.
If it promised to burn, sculpt, shred, tone, or transform… I was in.
And for a while, I thought my body struggling through them meant I just needed to get stronger.
But the dizziness, joint pain, crashes, and exhaustion were not signs I was weak.
They were signs my body was overloaded.
Eventually, exercise stopped feeling like something that helped me and started feeling like something I had to recover from.
What changed everything was realizing I didn’t need to “get back” to the workouts that broke me down.
I needed to rebuild my tolerance for the right kind of movement.
Gentler. Smarter. Adjustable. Repeatable.
Because the goal is not to survive your workout.
The goal is to make movement feel safe again.
If workouts keep making you worse, you are not broken.
Your body may just need a completely different approach. 💛

I really thought eating less was the answer.
Less calories.
Less food.
More bars.
More “healthy” snacks.
More willpower.
But my body did not need more control.
It needed less stress.
I learned the hard way that I could eat less on paper and still feel more inflamed, more hungry, more tired, and more stuck when most of my food was processed, rushed, or eaten in stress mode.
And honestly?
A lot of “healthy” snack foods are just glorified processed candy bars and chips.
What changed things for me was much less dramatic:
more quality protein often
more colorful balanced meals
less takeout and restaurant food
less fake healthy snacks
less fear around eating “perfectly”
and more calm while eating
Because sometimes the problem is not that you need more discipline.
Sometimes your body has been under too much stress for too long.

👉🏼Have you ever noticed you feel better on vacation, or when you stop being so strict with food? Comment below would love to hear.
And if your body feels stuck in that stress cycle around exercise as well, don’t forget to grab my free No Crash Guide. You can get the live link in my “Free Guide” highlights.

Power Pilates… without the pain, pressure, or post-workout crash. 👏🏼
I just added 3 brand-new Pain Free Power Pilates workouts to CLF TV, and I created them for those who want to feel stronger and more toned, — but for those who also don’t want a workout that leaves them wiped out.
What’s so great is you can choose what your body needs each day:
✨ 45 Minute Full Body — a mix of seated + standing
✨ 25 Minute All Seated — no standing required
✨ 25 Minute All Standing — no mat or floor work needed
You can use light hand weights and ankle weights for extra resistance, or skip them completely. You can also take the breaks, modify, pause, or do less whenever your body asks you to. It is designed to work with your body, not against it.
Because the goal is not to prove how much you can push through, but rather move in a way that helps you feel better after — not worse.
Try the new Pain Free Power Pilates workouts now in my online service CLF TV. 💛
You can find the link in my bio under CLF TV or in my highlights under CLF TV.

I thought low impact workouts would fix everything. No jumping, no pounding, nothing too intense. It should have worked.
And honestly… sometimes it did. But I was still crashing. Even with workouts that looked “gentle.”
That part confused me for a long time, because I felt like I was doing everything right.
But — and this is the part that changed everything for me — low impact doesn’t always mean low stress on your body. My body could still feel overwhelmed… even when it looked easy.
What finally helped wasn’t just changing the workout. It was changing how I moved through it. Not holding my breath, not bracing, not pushing just to finish. That small shift made a bigger difference than I expected.

👉🏼Have you ever done a “gentle” workout and still felt worse after?

One of the hardest things for me to accept was this:
Sometimes doing less is exactly why I feel better.
Not less because I’m giving up.
Less because my body responds better that way.
That went against everything I had learned in fitness.
I thought more meant results.
Harder meant progress.
Stopping early meant I wasn’t trying.
But — and this is the part that changed everything for me —
When I stopped at the point where I could do more, instead of pushing until I proved something…
I actually felt better later.
Better energy.
Less crash.
Less dread the next day.
That became a huge part of my method.
Not just the right workout.
The right amount.
And for a lot of bodies, that amount is less than we’ve been taught.
👉🏼Have you ever done less and felt better… but still felt guilty about it?

Sometimes it wasn’t the workout that made me crash. It was the stack.
The workout… plus bad sleep, plus stress, plus not enough food, plus trying to fit too much into one day.
And then later I’d feel awful and think, “Okay… I guess I can’t handle that workout.”
But — and this is the part that changed everything for me — sometimes the workout wasn’t the real problem.
Sometimes my body was already overloaded before I even pressed play.
That realization changed my method a lot. Not just what I do, but how I read the day I’m bringing into it.
The same workout can feel completely different depending on what your body is already carrying.
That was such a relief to finally understand.
Do you think it’s usually the workout itself… or the stack around it?
