☕ Good coffee, great conversations, and even better connections!
One of our favorite things about working in senior care is the incredible people we get to work alongside.
Each month, our very own Jonathan Grosvenor brings local professionals together for Coffee & Connections, an opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, meet new ones, share ideas, and strengthen the relationships that make our community so special.
This month, we had the pleasure of gathering at Studio Vargas, where Andres Vargas graciously opened his doors and welcomed everyone into his beautiful space. A huge thank you to Andres for the hospitality!
While we all bring different backgrounds, experiences, and areas of expertise to the table, we share something important: a commitment to serving our community and the people who depend on us.
And sometimes, the best collaborations don't start in a conference room or during a formal meeting. They start over a cup of coffee and a genuine conversation.
We're grateful for everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to join us, and especially proud of Jonathan for continuing to create opportunities for our community to come together.

Good people, great conversations, and an evening spent celebrating the relationships that make our healthcare community special!
Last week, members of our Gentle Hearts Living Solutions team joined Mission Healthcare at OHSO Brewery for their Referral Partner Appreciation Happy Hour.
It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, make some new connections,
and spend time with the incredible professionals who dedicate their days to supporting patients, seniors, and families throughout our community.
At Gentle Hearts, we know that helping families navigate care decisions takes more than one organization. It takes relationships, trust, and professionals who genuinely care about the people they serve.
A big thank you to Mission Healthcare for bringing everyone together and for recognizing the referral partners who are part of this community.

October is Long-Term Care Planning Month.
Most families we meet didn’t plan on needing us.
Something happened.
A fall. A hospitalization. A change in memory. A discharge date that suddenly turned a conversation about “someday” into a decision that needed to be made now.
That’s why we love the message behind this month.
Planning for long-term care doesn’t mean deciding today that Mom needs assisted living or Dad needs memory care. It means understanding what they want, knowing what options exist, and having some of the important conversations while there’s still time to make thoughtful decisions.
Because you shouldn’t have to make a five-year decision in 48 hours.
Throughout October, we’re going to share some practical information to help families start those conversations, understand different levels of care, and know what questions are worth asking.
And if you’re not sure where to start, that’s okay. That’s exactly what we help families figure out.

Good things happen when the right people get around the same table.
Last week, our Idaho team joined fellow NPRA members at Ponderosa Estate for a roundtable focused on something we all care deeply about: helping seniors and their families navigate care transitions well.
The conversation brought together professionals from home care, senior placement and care navigation, care management, and community operations. We shared best practices, talked about successes and challenges, and learned more about how each of us can better support the others.
Because no one organization handles every part of a senior’s journey. When we understand each other’s roles, build strong relationships, and communicate well, families ultimately receive better support.
A huge thank you to The Ponderosa Estate for opening their doors, providing such a beautiful space for the conversation, and taking such great care of everyone.
We’re grateful to be part of an Idaho senior care community that believes collaboration makes all of us better.

Sometimes you leave an event with one little thing that sticks with you.
For Michelle, it was this: “Make a ripple.”
Last week, she joined our friend Bob Roth of Cypress HomeCare Solutions at AllThrive 365’s 8th Annual Community Breakfast. This year’s theme, Together Through Time, focused on something we see every day in senior care — the impact of caring for one another extends far beyond a single moment.
A phone call returned. A family pointed toward the right resource. Someone taking a little extra time to listen. One organization connecting another with someone who can help.
None of those things seem enormous on their own. But they add up.
That’s one of the things we love about Arizona’s senior-care community. No single organization does everything, nor should we. The best outcomes happen when good people know one another, understand each other’s strengths, and work together when a family needs help.

Eight years ago, Gentle Hearts Living Solutions began with two nurses, one idea, and a belief that families deserved better when navigating senior care.
On October 1, 2018, Nick and Michelle opened GHLS.
They couldn't have known then exactly what the next eight years would bring—or how many people would eventually become part of this story.
Today, Gentle Hearts serves families across Arizona and Idaho, helping seniors and the people who love them understand their options, navigate difficult decisions, and find the right level of care.
But eight years isn't really about how much we've grown.
It's about the families who have trusted us during some of the most overwhelming moments of their lives.
It's about the seniors we've had the privilege of getting to know—not simply as a diagnosis or a list of care needs, but as people with stories, preferences, families, and lives that matter.
And it's about the incredible team that shows up every single day to do this work.
They answer the late calls. They sit with families who don't know what comes next. They tour communities. They ask the extra questions. They advocate. They solve problems. They celebrate the good outcomes and carry the hard ones with them.
GHLS may have started with Nick and Michelle, but what it has become belongs to an entire team and the communities that have trusted us.
Eight years later, we're incredibly grateful to still be doing the work that started all of this: helping people take care of the people they love.
To our team, our community partners, the professionals who trust us with their patients and clients, and especially the seniors and families who have invited us into their lives—
Thank you for eight incredible years. ❤️

When is it time to get Mom or Dad more help?
Families ask us this all the time, and there usually isn't one moment that gives you the answer.
Instead, there are little things that start adding up.
A fall. Then another near-fall.
Mom starts holding onto furniture when she walks.
Dad isn't showering as often because he's afraid of getting in and out.
Getting up from the chair takes more effort.
Medications become harder to manage.
Maybe you're stopping by more frequently, calling every night, or finding yourself constantly worried about what might happen when nobody is there.
None of those things automatically means someone needs to move.
But when several start happening together, it's probably time to reassess the plan.
That might mean making the home safer, bringing in some additional help, involving therapy or healthcare providers, increasing family support—or exploring another living environment.
There isn't one answer that works for every family.
The goal is to recognize changes early enough that you have time to make a thoughtful decision rather than waiting for the next crisis to make it for you.

A good day on the golf course for an even better reason. ⛳️
Last week, our Gentle Hearts team had the opportunity to join Touchmark for their golf tournament benefiting the Meridian Fire Department.
We love being part of events like this. Not just because they’re a chance to get out, have some fun, and spend time with familiar faces, but because being part of a community means supporting the people and organizations who take care of it.
Thank you to Touchmark for bringing everyone together, and to the Meridian Fire Department for everything you do for the community we’re proud to serve. 💗

A little Boise photo dump from a really fun night. 💙
Michelle and Dayana joined friends and community partners at the 2026 Boise Metro Chamber Annual Gala & Auction this week.
We spend a lot of time talking about what it means to be part of the communities we serve. Nights like this are a good reminder that community really is built by people showing up, getting to know one another, supporting local organizations, and finding ways to work together.
We’re incredibly grateful for the relationships Gentle Hearts has built throughout the Treasure Valley and for the warm welcome our team continues to receive in Idaho.
Thanks to the Boise Metro Chamber for a fantastic evening — and yes, we absolutely had to get the picture with Buster. 😂
