When you work with me 1-1 we spend time cultivating that vision on the future you so that you can get crystal clear on the way you want to think and feel about food when your at at maintenance.

Once you have that clear vision, you practice channeling her thoughts and feelings about food and weight now.

Just like any other practice, it will take time. You will slip back into old thoughts and habits from time to time and that’s ok.

I will be there to remind you who you are becoming every time.

Eventually you will be thinking, feeling and acting the way she would act on default.

At that point, you put yourself on the fast track to achieving her results….it’s only a matter of time.

The only reason I was able to stop the constant cycle of stopping and starting diets and finally create a long term healthy LIFESTYLE was because I changed my self-identity first.

I didn’t wait until I reached my goal to allow myself to think I was a healthy person…

I started thinking it the day I decided that was who I wanted to become and then I never stopped.

If your want to make a change, this is the secret sauce.

Don’t wait until you see a certain number in the scale to believe you are fit and healthy.

Just believe it now and let your brain work it’s magic!! 🧠✨

Making yourself a priority doesn’t mean you push others lower down on the list.

Your life isn’t a pie chart where, if one area gets more attention, the other areas must get less. That’s not how life works.

Instead, it’s like a pyramid. You’re health and wellbeing is at the base of the pyramid and every other area is layered on top.

The stronger your base is, the more attention and focus you can give to improving each area that gets stacked on top.

But when you don’t feel confident in your ability to create that strong foundation, it’s tempting to ignore that part.

We have a tendency to do the bare minimum so we can move on to the other areas where we do feel confident...

But when you do that, the other areas will never be as stable as they could be.

It’s not that they can’t be good, they just can’t reach their full potential when YOU aren’t feeling the best you could.

Imagine how those other areas could feel if you showed up as your healthiest, most confident self?

If you didn’t have that voice in the back of your mind telling you that you aren’t doing enough?

You may think those thoughts don’t impact the other pasty of your life, but they always do.

Our self-image impacts how we show up for everything and everyone in our lives.

So just imagine having the self-image of a naturally fit and healthy who never struggle with food or weight.

How freeing would that feel?!

Now here’s the cool part…

That version of you is SO MUCH CLOSER than you think. She’s literally just one thought away.

Maybe that one thought is believing that you can prioritize your health without sacrificing anything else.

It’s not naïve. It’s simply understanding that you won’t find solutions if all you’re looking for is the problem.

What if it isn’t a problem that you feel lazy and don’t want to workout half the time?

What if it didn’t matter that you don’t want to eat what you planned half the time?

What if it was normal that you don’t feel motivated or excited to change like half the time?

I find that about half the time, I don’t FEEL like doing the things I planned on doing.

My brain will come up with LOTS of reasons why…It will be a new reason every time.

“I don’t know what I’m doing”
“I don’t have the time”
“It’s not working anyways”

These are just a few of the thoughts my brain likes to offer up when it really just wants me to be lazy.

Unfortunately, it’s just a fact that about half the time you won’t want to do the things you planned.

So you can either be ok with only do thing you feel like doing…

OR….

Find a way to tap into motivation so you can do it even when your brain want to be lazy.

The first option means your life just keeps looking the way it does now, no growth.

The second option gives you unlimited potential.

Personally, I choose the second ;)

I choose to do the internal work of identifying the thoughts I need to be thinking to feel excited, and then thinking them on purpose.

“I’m blessed to be able to move my body”

“The food I have planned is going to be delicious”

“Practicing self-care helps me have the life I want”

Thoughts like this help me show up for myself even during the 50% when I don’t want to.

Believing these thoughts is all I have to do different, and it’s all you have to do too.

You find the thoughts you want to be thinking, and you practice thinking them on purpose.

You already know you don’t need another diet or meal plan. You’ve been there, done that, and it didn’t feel good or give you lasting results.

Weighing and measure all of your food doesn’t feel doable (for most people), and it’s certainly not a sustainable way to loss weight.

If you’re searching for a real solution and ready to be done stressing about food and weight — this is for you.

What you need is to learn the skill of healthy eating habits.

Yes, I said it’s a skill. And it’s not one that we are taught in school or by our parents growing up.

And it’s also not a skill that comes naturally to (most) humans in the world today.

Our entire culture is designed to make overeating easier.

But just like any other skill, healthy eating habits can be practiced and honed over time.

You just have to put intention behind it, just like any other skill.

You wouldn’t set out to learn to play piano and be annoyed that you don’t already know how. You wouldn’t be embarrassing that you need to practice. You would know that if you set your mind to it, get the help you need, and give it time, becoming proficient piano is inevitable.

Well it’s the same with your eating habits.

If you set the intention, get the guidance you need, and have patience, becoming a naturally healthy person is inevitable.

You will eventually become so proficient at it that you don’t have to practice. Then you are just enjoying the results and having fun.

This is the process I walk my clients through in my 1:1 health coaching practice.

Do you ever worry that maybe reaching your health goals won’t be worth it?

Have you feared that maybe you just don’t have the dedication, commitment, or willpower to get there?

Like maybe for some people, “being skinny” is worth all the sacrifice, but to you, at times, it doesn’t feel that way…

It doesn’t feel worth your peace of mind, being present with your friends and family, or your free time just to look different.

Well I’m here to tell you that you’re right, it’s not.

Just being skinnier won’t make you happier. It won’t make you more likable. It won’t make you enjoy your life so much more.

Trust me, I know.

You have to do that for yourself FIRST. Then, you can let your physical results change as a symptom of feeling so much better about yourself and your life…

To really have the experience you want of looking better AND feeling better about yourself, you first have to find Ok-ness with exactly where you are in your current body and your current life.

The harder you try to resist where you are now, the longer you will stay there.

You have to accept that the body and the life you have now is OK.

AND THEN, from that place of ok-ness, you can finally look at your situation logically.

You can start to ask yourself useful questions like —

What am I willing to do for my health every single day, even if it doesn’t change how I look?

What habits do I want to work on, just for me?

What simple, doable changes could I make to feel even better about myself right now?

This is how you find the way that’s going to work for you. You stop looking for the quick fix and following what other people do believing that’s the only way…

Because if it costs your enjoyment of your life or you enjoyment of food — it’s not worth it anyways.

There are a million and one “right” ways to do it. You just have to find the one that’s right for YOU.

But I can promise you this: finding your right way always starts from a place of love for who and where you are now.

I totally used to be that person that thought my health goals had to go out the window during the holidays…

I figured I couldn’t count my calories, I wouldn’t have time to work out as much, and I couldn’t control what food was being served…so I was essentially helpless.

Fast forward to today — I know that I am 100% in control of what and how much food I put in my mouth no matter what situation I am in.

I know that it’s totally fine to have a little extra sugar and carbs around the holidays because I won’t be overeating.

And I know that if I do overeat, I will just get right back on track the next day.

One day of eating “off plan” won’t make a difference in the grand scheme of things.

So this Thanksgiving, enjoy the foods you love, honor your body by not over stuffing it, and if you accidentally do, just know that it’s not the end of the world.

Be present with your people, not in your head worried about you food.

Happy Thanksgiving eve!! 🦃
