4 signs your jaw pain might actually be TMJ. π¦·
TMJ (temporomandibular joint) issues can show up in ways that don't always feel like a "jaw problem":
β’ Clicking or popping when you chew β often means the joint isn't tracking smoothly.
β’ Jaw pain that spreads to your ear β the joint sits right next to your ear canal, so pain can radiate there.
β’ Morning headaches or a sore jaw β can point to nighttime clenching or grinding.
β’ Trouble opening your mouth fully β may mean the muscles or joint are working overtime to compensate.
TMJ is often connected to tension patterns in the neck and jaw working together, which is why it doesn't always resolve with a night guard alone.
Does more than one of these sound familiar?
