Dr. Wind has specialized training in joint replacement, sports medicine, hand surgery, and has worked fixing complex fractures at several Level I trauma centers. Dr. Tyler Wind, a native of Tappahannock, has returned home to found the Northern Neck Bone & Joint Center. Dr. Wind completed his undergraduate and medical school studies at the University of Virginia. His internship and residency were p
erformed in Charleston, SC, one of the nation's top orthopaedic training programs. After residency, Dr. Wind chose to complete a year of specialized training in joint replacement, sports medicine, and hand surgery in Roanoke with several of the nation's top orthopaedic surgeons. He has performed thousands of minimally invasive arthroscopic and joint replacement procedures of the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle. During his fellowship he was extensively trained in anterior hip replacement, computer navigation/computer assisted surgery, and other cutting edge, minimally invasive techniques with one of the world's top joint replacement surgeons, Dr. Joseph Moskal. By returning home to practice, Dr. Wind fulfills his dream of being able to care for his friends and neighbors. While he had many offers from numerous large groups and hospitals, he cherishes the opportunity to provide top-notch care to the people of the Northern Neck and Middle Penninsula without the need to drive far from home. He believes the small town atmosphere allows him to provide care that is superior to any he has seen.
