Doubles

Many years ago, on my first visit to Edinburgh where my mother grew up, I saw a woman on Princes Street who looked just like me. Reverend Wesley asked me what I thought. I must have repeated two times, ‘just like me,’ u til I caught on. He wanted to know if I found her beautiful etc. Well, just like me.

The other day I was stunned silent by the double of the most important person in my life standing like Saul head and shoulders above everyone in the local 7-Eleven. His presence took my breath away. Quickly he moved outside off across Route Nine leaving me stunned.

Research into doubles brought interesting information. There are many cases of lookalikes, strangers who never met, but almost all share genetic variations. It’s the gene pool.

Confusing.

Have something heavy but precious and the feeling is keep it inside. Your own prayer power has grown much of late.

Today I felt compelled to go see the best priest in the world who is schedule to be in the chapel. How would I not share when I get there? Which is it? Compelled to go to chapel understanding something new is best kept private.

Get there. His picture is there but he is not. There is another Fr Mark.

Crossmarked.

I have met this Fr Mark in person but he says we have not yet met in person. The water level rises. I say people remember priests but priests do not remember people. Falls flat. Rises and falls. I fall anyway. Feel bad when slighted. Feel bad when I fight too hard.

Tell the priest many things while he looks over my shoulder signaling someone who makes the chapel lighter and darker. Finally I said For God’s sake. We can talk in the dark. Just listen.

He says he wants the light to be right. Tell the priest how prayer sessions changed when he did Bible class and so on. It’s an old tale that only got resolved yesterday.

My secret is safe with me.

Secrets ache to be shared.

Beware of What You Dabble In

Twinning?
What does that mean to me? Doppelgängers in English literature? Lord Byron appearing simultaneously in London and Ravenna in -1819?

Then recently twinning meant something up close and personal in life and paint.
