Diets high in carbohydrates can cause several adverse effects:

Blood Sugar Spikes & crashes
Carbs digest quickly, leading to rapid increases in blood sugar followed by energy crashes and increased hunger.

Weight Gain: Excess carbohydrates are stored as fat, increasing your risk of obesity.

Metabolic Issues: Consuming more carbs than your body needs increases the risk of metabolic syndrome, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

Skin Problems: High-sugar diets can worsen inflammation and lead to acne or skin pigmentation changes.

Digestive Discomfort: A heavy load of simple sugars and starches can disrupt your gut microbiome, leading to bloating and gas.

Some individuals suffer from "carb intolerance," where their bodies cannot metabolize carbohydrates efficiently. Even moderate carbohydrate intake can cause bloating, heartburn, extreme fatigue, and severe abdominal cramps. To explore dietary plans or track how specific carbohydrates affect your energy levels, you can review guidelines from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Your pancreas does not care if the carbohydrates you eat come from sugar, complex carbohydrates, bread or fruit. Your body turns all carbohydrates into sugar. A piece of bread is equivalent to eating 5 heaping teaspoons of sugar, a little over a cup of rice contains the equivalent to 15 teaspoons of sugar, a bowl of pasta equals 20 teaspoons of sugar. 1 teaspoon of sugar contains approximately 4 grams of carbs.

Energy doesn’t come from rest alone.

It comes from motion.

Rest is important.

Recovery matters.

But energy is created when you move your body.

When your heart rate rises.

When your blood flows.

When your muscles engage.

Sitting all day drains you.

Movement renews you.

Take a short walk.

Do a few squats.

Stretch for five minutes.

Move first.

Energy follows.
