What is Mastalgia?
Mastalgia refers to breast pain, which can be cyclical (linked to menstrual cycles) or noncyclic (from the breast or nearby tissue). The pain varies in intensity and is rarely a sign of cancer.
Treatment/Management:
• Wear a supportive bra.
• Take ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or diclofenac.
• Limit coffee, chocolate, and saturated fats.
• Consider vitamin E and D supplements.
• Women under 30: ultrasound.
• Ages 30-39: ultrasound or mammography.
• Ages 40+: diagnostic mammography.

Understanding Your Blood Pressure: What Do the Numbers Mean?

Blood pressure measures the force exerted by your blood against the walls of your arteries as your heart pumps. When this force is excessively high, it results in hypertension, or high blood pressure, which escalates the risk of health issues such as heart disease, heart attacks, and strokes.

A blood pressure reading consists of two numbers, for example, 120/80. Both numbers are crucial. The first number, or the systolic pressure, represents the pressure in your arteries when your heart beats. The second number, or the diastolic pressure, indicates the pressure when your heart is at rest between beats. Thus, a reading of 120 systolic and 80 diastolic is articulated as "120 over 80." Generally, a normal blood pressure level is considered to be below 120/80.
