NOTES FROM MY DAD 🤍 The Beginning
My dad, Warren, saw something in me long before I knew what to call it.
Growing up, there were things I felt deeply, sensed, or somehow just knew. I didn’t always understand that part of myself, and for a long time, it made me uncomfortable.
But it never made Dad uncomfortable.
He was a deep thinker, curious about intuition, spirituality, and the parts of life that don’t always come with easy explanations. Instead of telling me to ignore what I was experiencing, he encouraged me to stay curious.
He gave me permission to ask bigger questions. To look beyond the boxes I’d been given. To consider that maybe there was more to life, and more to me, than I understood at the time.
Dad never asked me to prove any of it. He simply gave me room to explore.
I didn’t fully understand what he was giving me then. I do now.
He saw my gift before I had the confidence to call it a gift. He celebrated a sensitivity in me that I was still learning to accept.
Dad has passed, but somehow our conversation doesn’t feel finished.
There are moments when I feel him close, and times when he visits me in my dreamtime. I’ll wake with a thought, a message, or simply a knowing that carries that unmistakable feeling of Dad.
And sometimes, it feels like he’s still reminding me:
here’s more. Keep looking.
That’s where this new Wednesday series comes from: Notes From My Dad.
I’ll be sharing lessons Dad gave me while he was here, things I’m only beginning to understand now, and messages that come in those quiet spaces when he feels close again.
This is for Warren - the man who saw something in me before I could see it myself.
And maybe it’s also for anyone who has been loved by someone who could see who they were becoming long before they could see it themselves.
Dad, you were right. There was more of me to discover.
I’m still discovering it.
Thanks, Dad. I get it now. 🤍
