Just a friendly reminder that every parent I work with completes a comprehensive, detailed intake before I make any clinical recommendations.
When someone asks a breastfeeding question via DM and/or text, the answer is rarely as simple as it seems.
Before providing guidance, I assess factors such as:
🍼 Feeding history
👶 Baby's health history and growth
🤱 Maternal health history
👄 Infant oral function and anatomy
🩺 Breast and ni**le assessment
🥛 Milk transfer and feeding effectiveness
📋 Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum factors
Without these things, I cannot responsibly provide individualized clinical recommendations, even when I genuinely want to help.
What works for one parent-baby dyad may be completely inappropriate for another.
Breastfeeding support is not one-size-fits-all, and your family's situation deserves more than a quick answer.
If you're struggling with feeding, I encourage you to schedule a consultation so we can look at the whole picture and create a plan that's right for you and your baby.
