Some helpful strategies for reaching your 2026 body goals…
☑️ Don’t snack while you’re watching TV. It can lead to mindless snacking and before you know it, you’ve eaten a whole bag of chips and dip.
☑️ Commit to eating your meals at a table. Limit distractions like phone usage. This helps you be more present while you’re eating. You’ll be able to pay attention to how your body feels in the moment. If you’re eating with others, you’ll also be more present with them.
☑️ When you enter the grocery store, head directly to the produce first! Then make your way around the parameter. You’ll find the most healthy, fresh foods on the parameter and processed foods in the aisles. The store layout is purposeful to entice you to buy popular processed foods. Only go into the aisles for things you need! You’ll also find more expensive or popular items in your line of sight, and less expensive, similar items lower towards the bottom shelves where they are hard to see.
☑️ Take your time. Eat slow. Food is one of the great pleasures of life! Don’t rush through meals. Take time to taste it, relish, and process how it makes you feel. You’ll likely find that when you don’t feel rushed to eat, you feel full sooner. This gives your hunger and satiety signals time to catch up.
☑️ If you find that you eat out frequently, such as brunches or dinner and cocktails, try suggesting new activities that don’t involve food. Better yet, pick something active, like an exercise class for everyone to try!
