Food elimination is a common response to bloating, but it rarely addresses the underlying cause.
In Ayurveda, bloating is understood as a disturbance of digestion and downward movement. When agni is weakened and apana vata is impaired, gas accumulates and is not properly eliminated.
This can result from improper food choices or combinations, irregular meal timing, cold or leftover food, eating in a stressed state, or consuming foods that are not suited to your constitution or the season. Contributing factors also include mental stress and the habitual suppression of natural urges.
If you are dealing with persistent bloating, it often requires a more individualized, root-cause approach rather than ongoing restriction.
I offer clinical Ayurvedic consultations for women focused on digestive and metabolic health, where we assess your agni, identify patterns, and create a structured plan tailored to your physiology. You can book a consultation through my website.
