Established in 1996, The Children’s Heart Foundation is the nation’s leading organization solely committed to congenital heart defect research funding. Our mission is to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs. Since The Children's Heart Foundation was founded, we have funded millions of dollars of CHD research and scientific collaborations.

Today, on World Birth Defects Day, we stand with organizations around the world to raise awareness for those impacted by birth defects. ❤ Congenital heart defects ( ) are the most common birth defect in the U.S., affecting nearly 40,000 babies each year—about 1 in 110 newborns.

The Children’s Heart Foundation is celebrating three decades of funding groundbreaking CHD research—advancing diagnosis, improving treatments, and helping children and adults live longer, healthier lives.

But the work is far from over.

On this World Birth Defects Day, we recommit to accelerating research, expanding innovation, and creating brighter futures for every Heart Warrior.
