Over the years, we’ve watched many of our participants continue their equine and horsemanship education long after graduating from Basecamp for Veterans. Because of that, we’re excited to introduce a new opportunity designed specifically for our alumni.

In partnership with True Ranch Hospitality and Tombstone Monument Ranch, we are developing a continued horsemanship experience for past participants who want to keep learning, growing, and building on the foundation established during their time at BCI.

This new program will provide an opportunity to further develop horsemanship skills while reconnecting with fellow alumni, mentors, and the community that makes Basecamp for Veterans so special.

We’re excited to continue bringing our participants together and supporting them as they continue their journey with horses and horsemanship.

More details coming soon.

One of the things we value most at BCI is the sense of community that grows throughout each program.

Yes, participants come here to work with horses and mustangs, but they also spend time encouraging one another, learning from each other, and witnessing each other’s journeys firsthand. Sometimes watching a friend experience a breakthrough with a horse can feel just as meaningful as your own.

That’s part of why the community aspect of this work matters so much to us. The bonds formed during each class often continue long after the program ends.

Through monthly clinics, reunions, and continued horsemanship opportunities, we aim to create a space where participants from every class can reconnect, support one another, and continue growing together.

At the end of the day, it’s never just about the horses. It’s about the people standing beside you, too.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

At Basecamp for Veterans and White Stallion Ranch, we are especially reminded of the meaning of service, sacrifice, and community. We’re grateful for those who gave everything, and for the families who continue to carry their memory forward.

Today, we remember with gratitude and honor those who served and never came home. 🇺🇸

At Basecamp for Veterans, the learning doesn’t happen alone.

Through the guidance of trusted partners, facilitators, and experienced horsemen, our veterans are introduced to the skills, patience, and responsibility that come with handling horses, especially when learning to work with mustangs and the unique lessons they can teach.

Pictured is Randy Helm with one of the mustangs that came through our program. Today, that same horse is part of the dude string at White Stallion Ranch, a full-circle reminder of growth, trust, and the lasting impact of this work.

We’re grateful for the people who help guide both horses and humans through the process. 🤎
