A late Mother’s Day post because honestly… that just feels on brand for this season of life. 😂

Some days motherhood feels magical — herbal tea brewing on the stove, muddy little feet running through the yard, babies collecting bugs and flowers while I pretend I know where everyone’s shoes are. Other days it feels like surviving on coffee, reheated food, anxiety, laundry piles, and “MOMMMM” being screamed from three different directions while my husband and I try to remember we actually like each other underneath the stress.

This world feels heavy lately. Parenting feels heavy lately. Marriage, finances, growing pains, exhaustion, trying to build dreams while raising babies and somehow still remembering to thaw the chicken for dinner… heavy.

But goodness… what a privilege it is, too.

To be the safe place.
To kiss scraped knees.
To teach tiny humans to love the Earth, get dirty, be kind, and stay soft in a world that tries hard to harden people.

These photos captured something I rarely stop long enough to see — not perfection, not a Pinterest mom, not a woman who has it all together — just a tired mother loving her family with her whole heart.

I used to be a normal person…
…and then I became the kind of woman who swaddles baby chickens and lets them nap on my chest like tiny, feathery newborns. 🐣

Like yes hi, welcome to my life—
where I check on my chicks more than my texts,
where my idea of self-care is whispering sweet nothings to a bird,
and where I fully make eye contact with a chicken like we’re having a deep, soul-level conversation. 😅

I mean look at her…
SHE’S SWADDLED. ON MY CHEST.
Tell me this isn’t motherhood in its purest, slightly unhinged form.

At this point, I don’t know if I run a small business, a homestead, or a full-blown emotional support farm.
But I do know this—

There is something so healing about slowing down enough to hold something this small, this soft, this new to the world…
and just be.

So yeah… maybe I’ve lost it a little.

I’ll be honest… things are a little messy behind the scenes right now 🌿

Labels are changing.
Formulas are evolving.
And my garden is slowly taking over my life (in the best way).

Some of what you’re seeing right now came from a season where I was learning, sourcing, and figuring out what felt aligned…

…and now I’m stepping into something deeper.

More herbalist.
More intentional.
More me.

Today, we pause.
Not in fear, but in awareness.
Not in panic, but in hope.

For this world—so beautiful, so fragile—
we ask for protection.
For the forests, the oceans, the soil beneath our feet,
for the air we all share without borders.

For every child who wakes up unsure,
every parent holding it together,
every soul carrying more than they can say—
may they feel a moment of safety,
a breath of peace,
a reminder they are not alone.

For those displaced, frightened, and searching for home,
may comfort find them in unexpected ways.
May kindness meet them where fear has lived.

For the animals—innocent, voiceless, trusting—
may they be sheltered, protected, and spared from harm.

For those standing on the front lines,
in uniform or unseen,
may they be guided with wisdom,
covered in protection,
and brought safely back to the arms that love them.

And for all of us—
may we soften.
May we choose compassion when it’s hardest.
May we remember that beneath every label, belief, and difference,
we are still human…
sharing this one home.
