Every day I celebrate my clients wins along their journey, I must not forget to take a moment to celebrate me and mine. So, hereās a story:
Before becoming a coach, I was an Assistant Project Manager for GCās in the construction industry. I wore a white hard hat, had a shiny benefit package and the corporate ladder to executive 6 figures was laid out.
My BS degree is in construction, I achieved a minor study in business, my (voke) high school diploma came with an OSHA 10 card, carpentry trade certificate, 1 year of āindustry experienceā and a co-op job. I thought I was really onto something.
So why would I want to completely quit and switch careers to coaching? Why wouldnāt I ājust stick it outā for the 60k a year over the risks of entrepreneurship?
All I knew was an innate knowing deeeep in my soul pulling me to create something entirely new fusing my passions, natural talents and experiences. My entrepreneurial spirit was unleashed and hungry.
Interviewers looked at my construction soaked resume and said things like āall my trainers are life coaches, so what makes YOU so special?ā or āIāve been doing this 40 years, I can show you how to build MY way, the right wayā
Saying my personality or journey did not cut it. My new hard earned certifications and knowledge didnāt mean much with little experience. I had to start from the bottom. More on that later
7 years in, my rookie season is over. Iāve built my clientele ground up 3 times and counting, some clients sticking with me over a year now. Iāve gathered testimonials, results, failures and lessons.
Veterans in fitness recognizing me as a good coach equipped with traits you just canāt teach. Friends and family seeing the vision now. Empowering them to get after their own gains or certifications too.
Clients losing fat, gaining muscle, dropping bad habits, learning and achieving their goals. My physique and abilities speaking for meā¦
Hereās to me, my perseverance, passion and drive. My absolute love and care for the people who trust me to coach them. My belief in myself and all the inner work Iāve done to get here. The future is brightš
What wins are you celebrating?
