I just had to share this little tid-bit because I see this play out in mom groups all the time. People ask about birth without an epidural and people swarm to the comments about how difficult it was but mention getting Pitocin. Which changes things greatly. Itā€™s two completely different experiences - birth without an epidural with Pitocin vs birth without an epidural and without Pitocin

Also for lack of limited time in the video I didnā€™t go into detail about denying Pitocin but I can make a separate video on that. No, you canā€™t always deny - sometimes itā€™s necessary but most of the time it is not and you are always the one with the decision making ability. Never forget that.

Thereā€™s something really hard about reaching your due date after loss.

For months, you can still imagine it allā€¦
what it would feel like, what life would look like.

And then suddenly, youā€™re at the point where your baby should be hereā€¦
and thereā€™s nothing left to picture.

Just questions youā€™ll never have answers to.

About 35% of labors in the U.S. are induced.

Thatā€™s more than 1 in 3 births.

Do we really believe that 35% of women couldnā€™t go into labor on their own and birth their babies? Or is something bigger going on in how we approach pregnancy and birth today?

Induction absolutely has its place in modern maternity care when there are true medical indications. But this rise is happening globallyā€”not just in the U.S.ā€”and it raises important questions about how we define ā€˜necessaryā€™ intervention, risk, and timing in pregnancy.

As always, the goal is informed choice: understanding why something is recommended, what the alternatives are, and what waiting might look like when mom and baby are stable šŸ¤

Yes, you can decline induction.

While induction can absolutely be the right and necessary choice in some situations, itā€™s also being recommended more and moreā€”sometimes without full context or urgency.

You always have the right to ask questions, understand the reason, and take time to make the decision that feels right for you and your baby (as long as things are medically stable).

Informed consent goes both ways šŸ¤

Part 2: the answer isā€¦ fatigue šŸ˜“

Up to 94ā€“95% of pregnant women experience itā€”especially in the 1st and 3rd trimester.

In early pregnancy, rising hormones (hello progesterone) can make you feel completely wiped.
And in the third trimester, your body is carrying more weight, working harder, and prepping for birth.

If youā€™re exhaustedā€¦ thereā€™s a reason.
Rest is not a luxury right nowā€”itā€™s necessary šŸ¤
