Ahhh okay so I took my OG brownie recipe and gave it a little fall twist that I think everyone is going to love. I added caramel sauce to the top of my brownie batter, swirled it in, baked them, and finished them off with a sprinkle of salted caramel finishing sugar! 🤎

Unfortunately, the pretty caramel swirls in made didn’t survive the oven LOL But! These brownies turned out SUPER moist, rich, and fudgy with that deeper, buttery caramel flavor. I’m super pleased!

Kinda happy the coffee cakes were a bust 🤣

Don’t these look SO good?! Well, guess what… they were AWFUL.

We officially have our first failed recipe ! Dry, crumbly, and absolutely no flavor. They looked promising though, I’ll give them that. The good news is nothing is going to waste! I scooped every last one of them out of their pans and plan to turn them into bread pudding instead for Blake, Miley, and I.

I already have a tried-and-true brownie recipe that is SO good, so I think I’m going to stick with what I know, give it a little fall twist, and make salted caramel brownie squares for our fall opening instead! 😍

So, if you were excited about the coffee cakes… I’m sorry to disappoint, but you will NOT be seeing these at the stand. Not every recipe makes the cut around here LOL

Eeeek!! We are getting ready, and I am SO excited! 🤎🍂

Tonight was all about testing some new recipes for Miley’s Market, and they did NOT disappoint!

We made mini pecan bites, homemade pecan pie, and sweet candied pecans, all using our freshly harvested pecans! And y’all, every single one turned out SO good.

We still have lots of baking and prepping to do, but I couldn’t wait to share a little sneak peek of what we’ve been working on!

I cannot wait for you guys to try everything! Thank you for continuing to support our little stand.🤎

👀 Sneak peak at what’s going to be available at the farm stand soon!

Miley has been hard at work collecting pecans all weekend! And that means YES we will still be opening the farm stand for 1 (maybe 2) weekends this fall even though the pumpkins were a flop! 🤣🎃

Of course, we will not be offering any fresh produce but we will have fresh pecans from Georgia, refrigerator pickles, and some fun delicious baked goods. Stay tuned on which dates we will be open! 💛

WE HAVE PUMPKINS! 🎃 However, once again, I have good news and bad news.

The good news is, we officially have pumpkins growing on our vines! I hand-pollinated a TON of flowers a few weeks ago, and it looks like all that work actually paid off! 🙌🏼

The bad news is… I have absolutely no idea what variety these are, but they are definitely NOT what I planted. 😭😭 Growing pumpkins in Florida can be tricky, so I did a ton of research and specifically chose mini pumpkin varieties that I thought would do well here. Unfortunately, it looks like the wrong seeds somehow ended up in the packets I purchased because, as you can clearly see, these are most definitely not mini pumpkins.

I did have a slight mental breakdown because I have worked SO hard on these dang squashes and was so excited to have little pumpkins at the farm stand this fall. Unfortunately, that probably won’t be happening this year. BUT I’m putting my negativity aside and celebrating the fact that WE GREW PUMPKINS! 🥹🎃 Miley keeps calling them watermelons, which cracks me up. 🤣🍉

So stay tuned to see if these guys make it over the next few weeks, and I guess to find out what it is I am growing in my back yard LOL

I just realized I never shared the news with my farm stand friends! 🤎🍪

Miley is going to be a BIG SISTER in February, and we are SO excited!

My winter garden will look a little different this year, with more of a focus on foods I can freeze and later purée for baby food. I know it sounds crazy to already be thinking that far ahead, but with Miley, I pretty much kept her on a little “farm-to-table” diet until she was about 9 months old and started daycare. 🥕🥦🍠

I really loved introducing her to so many different foods and flavors early on, and I’m excited to do it all over again with plenty of backyard grown goodness.🌱

Okay, we have good news and bad news! 🎃

The good news: We have SEVERAL pumpkin plants that are thriving, AND we officially have our first baby pumpkins!! 🎃🥹

The bad news: Squash bugs have found our pumpkins. Thankfully, they’ve only really affected one variety so far. I am doing the absolute MOST to keep these bugs at bay, but between the bugs and the Florida heat, I’m starting to understand why so many of our carving pumpkins are shipped in from other states. Growing pumpkins here is HARD!

I’m still crossing my fingers that I can keep this variety alive! So far, we’re still on track to have pumpkins by Halloween.

And if they’re late? I’ll just be putting pumpkins under the Christmas tree I guess because it goes up in November in this household! 🤣🎄🎃

I’ve been meaning to share this but keep forgetting!

If all goes as planned, Miley’s Market will be open on select weekends this fall selling… PUMPKINS! 🎃

I’ll be honest. I’ve tried growing pumpkins before without much success. 😅 This year, though, I did a lot more research, and so far things are looking great! The biggest challenge around here is that bugs usually get to the plants before they have a chance to thrive, but I’ve been staying on top of them with organic pesticides and antifungal sprays, and it seems to be paying off. I have had to hand pick some nasty squash bugs off but hopefully no damage was done…

I planted several different varieties, so this is going to be a fun little science experiment to see which ones handle our Florida climate the best.

Stay tuned for pumpkin updates over the next couple of months. I can’t wait to see how they do! 🎃

Took a visit to Skates Sweet Shack and let me tell y’all, her goodies are absolutely DELICIOUS!! 🤤💛

She and her husband are currently saving up for IVF treatment, and the proceeds from her stand are going toward helping them reach that goal. Unfortunately, a small local business in Umatilla called code enforcement on them, and they’re now having to shut down their stand by September 1st.

I encourage as many people as possible to stop by and support them during the month of August before they have to close! I promise you won’t be disappointed in your purchases. Everything looked SO good!

Blake looked at everything I bought and said, “Wow, you went all out.” I said, “Yeah…I couldn’t help myself.” 🤣🤣

I know so many of you were excited for one more weekend of Miley’s Market, and I’m so sorry to say that we will not be reopening this weekend after all. Between the intense heat and the garden really struggling, we’ve decided to go ahead and close Miley’s Market for the season a little earlier than anticipated. However, we are already planning a fall garden with some really fun new produce to add to the stand!

Thank you all so much for supporting our little stand this summer. Every purchase, share, kind comment, and visit meant so much. This has been such a fun little thing for our family and we are so grateful for all of the love and support you’ve shown Miley’s Market.

We can’t wait to do it all again soon! 💛🌻
