Let’s talk about perfection.

Maybe perfection was never meant to look like constantly doing more. 🌊

Maybe sometimes it looks like slowing down long enough to breathe deeply, stare at the ocean, and finally let yourself rest without guilt.

There’s something about the beach that makes me want to spend an entire day with a good book, quiet thoughts, and nowhere to rush off to next. I’m always a sucker for stories that weave history, humanity, and slower living together — the kind that remind you life was never supposed to feel this rushed all the time.

At Michelle Smith Wellness — and through our shared mission at The Supported Life, we talk a lot about stress, nervous system support, and wellness… but sometimes support starts with simply giving yourself permission to slow down.

Feeling too busy to work out? Learning to be strategic with time can be difficult. Starting small may seem not worth the time, but its a step in the right direction. ⏰ One easy thing to do to stay healthy, especially in midlife, is WALKING. It is something that calms you, it keeps your blood sugar levels in check and is something your body was made to do. Warmer weather is here, why not ask a friend to walk with you outside, having fun while having accountability is another added benefit! 💪

Magnesium deficiency is on the rise and it is a mineral that is required for so many biochemical reactions in the body such as blood sugar levels, bowl function and heart muscle contractions. ⁣

The health problems associated with magnesium deficiency include insomnia, fatigue, stress and anxiety, high blood pressure, obesity and the list goes on. ⁣

Diet is one of the fundamental ways you can influence your health. You can take a supplement, but eating foods rich in magnesium it’s a great way to get it, and why not include more avocado, spinach, bananas, cashews, almonds, pumpkin seeds and chia seeds! 🥑🍌🌱

As it gets warmer here, I decided to break out our popsicle molds and try a new recipe for my kids. ⁣
This time I decided to try Pineapple Orange Banana! It was great, so easy and took just a few minutes. 1 orange, 1/2 cup pineapple, 1 banana, 1/4 cup full fat coconut milk, orange zest⁣
Just blend and pour in the molds! ⁣

If you’ve ever struggled with adrenal fatigue, do you understand how difficult it is to navigate. In the environment of today’s world, you can easily see signs of adrenal fatigue. ⁣

In my work with clients, I’ve seen these common symptoms pop up often in those struggling:
Fatigue⁣
Difficulty waking up in the morning⁣
Sugar or salt cravings⁣
Weight gain⁣
Brain fog⁣
Depression and anxiety⁣

Even though the symptoms above are common, they are not normal. There are different ways to improve adrenal function, some of them would be to make sleep a priority, focus on low intensity exercises, increasing your protein and fat intake, getting lab work done and purposely managing your stress levels. ⁣
Stress management is a non-negotiable for health. If you don’t have a system in place to help you manage day-to-day stress I would encourage you to find someone, a spouse, friend or coach to help you find ways that are practical for you!
