IT FEELS LIKE FALL 🍂🍄🍁

The preparation begins!!

Getting the husband built beds, prepped and full of soil 🩷 we lined the ground with old feed sacks and card board, then began filling it with love (soil)

I can’t wait to see what we grow this fall.

We will be using transplants this year. But very excited to say the least.

EVERYONE MEET LEONARD

This is Christian’s project goat!

He will be grown, fed, and worked the entire year and shown livestock shows and auction. At the end of the year (end of show season) this little guy will be available for auction/purchase. He is a commercial grower meant to gain/pack on weight and be used to process. (I’m not sure if I have the heart for that). But this is his 4h project goat.

Although this is not our ABGA breed standard goat this is the start of our very first project. We will use this as the beginnings of goat care, weight gain, and showmanship. Throughout the show season we will be looking for sponsors, and if we make it to auction buyers. Christian will continue to work earning money, to help pay for his goat and all the goat needs.

Not much has changed but we are pausing for a moment to focus on this project until we can truly get our foundation steady for our ABGA breeding project. And afford the cost of a true to breed standard goat which btw are PRICEY 😭 IYKYK.

Although it is not our original breeding project goals. We will learn from this and get as much experience as possible.

SOLD

These girls are off to a heard of 30! 🤩
I know they’ll be in great hands!

We now know what we are looking for we have our goals and intentions set for next coming year, and a great foundation for our breeding program.

Although it did not start how we intended we learned A LOT!

Christian will still be showing 4h this year, but our goat breeding program will be paused temporarily. While Christian improves his showmanship skills, and we’re able to evaluate goats, and grow as breeders.

Stay tuned for spring of this coming year 🩷
