In today’s dating culture, words like pursue, court, and lead are thrown around constantly—especially within Christian circles. Yet despite hearing these terms over and over, very few people stop to explain what they actually look like in everyday life.
Many men genuinely want to honor God in but have never been shown how. Others have mistaken confidence for control, persistence for pursuit, or dominance for leadership. The result is confusion, frustration, and relationships that often leave both men and women wondering why things aren’t working.
The Bible paints a far more beautiful picture.
Biblical leadership isn’t about power.
Biblical pursuit isn’t about chasing.
Biblical courtship isn’t about manipulation.
It’s about love demonstrated through intentional action.
🌹 Pursuit Begins with Intention
A godly man doesn’t pursue because a woman is attractive. He pursues because he has discerned that she may be someone worth intentionally getting to know for the purpose of determining compatibility for marriage.
Notice that pursuit has a direction.
It isn’t casual entertainment.
It isn’t emotional breadcrumbing.
It isn’t keeping multiple women interested “just in case.”
Instead, biblical pursuit says:
“I see value in you, and I want to intentionally learn whether God may be leading us toward marriage.”
That purpose changes everything.
🌹 Pursuit Requires Action
Many women today experience something very different.
A man watches.
He stares.
He hovers.
He likes every social media post.
He waits for her to make the first move.
He tries to make her jealous.
He competes with other men.
He sends mixed signals.
None of those things are biblical pursuit.
They create confusion rather than clarity.
Healthy pursuit removes unnecessary guessing.
A man introduces himself.
He communicates respectfully.
He asks thoughtful questions.
He expresses interest honestly.
He accepts her answer with maturity—whether it is yes or no.
Pursuit requires courage because rejection is possible. Passive observation isn’t pursuit.
