Lymphatic drainage is a light, rhythmic skin stretching technique designed to aid in detoxification, healing, and flushing “stuck” lymph from the body. I perform these sessions for general wellness, post-surgery, and lymphedema. I am thankful that this technique has had a current surge on social media. It has brought me many new and recurring clients to try out this amazing manual therapy technique! I have found that it is especially beneficial for lymphedema, swelling due to blocked or removed lymph nodes. It’s incredible to actually see the swelling decrease after a session! I like to get a lymphatic drainage session done myself every few months just to keep my body performing at its best.

I have received a ton of “what the heck?” messages after announcing that I’m removing relaxation massage from my menu, so let me be transparent. I love my practice and all of my wonderful clients, but I cannot pour from an empty cup, and I can’t work efficiently when I am in pain. I currently have bursitis in my elbow, tendinitis in one thumb and arthritis in the other, and my triceps are so tight they’re compressing my ulnar nerve, causing numbness in my arms. This is all due to the repetitive nature of giving the same type of massage over and over. The average massage therapist only lasts five years. I love this career, and will do whatever I have to do to make it work. Even though I know I will make less money without traditional massages, at least in the beginning, I’m okay with that because I can build my practice to focus only on my specializations.

After much consideration, I have decided to stop offering relaxation/deep tissue massages. We have dozens of therapists in the area who specialize in them, and I am called to a different purpose. Don’t worry, I won’t be canceling appointments or firing clients in the near future, but I’ll be referring new and sometimes clients out to my colleagues. I want to build my practice to focus on Thai, medical and sports treatments. I’m already doing a lot of those, but I have to create the space in order to fulfill my dream. Thank you all so very much for your support.

I spent my Memorial Day weekend learning new techniques. These moves are not a relaxing massage. They’re a treatment to get clients out of pain fast. Frozen shoulders, sciatica, shin splints, joint pain, TMJ, and even migraines can be resolved quickly with this technique. Since this is new to me, I know I need to practice before I offer it as a paid service. Next Saturday, June 6th, I will be giving free 10 minute sessions from 8-11 am. If you’re in pain and interested, shoot me a message. *weeping wounds, broken bones, or a recent steroid shot or Botox are not appropriate for this treatment.

Thank you for visiting my page!
Pricing for all services:
30 min - $65
60 min - $105
90 min - $150

Your appointment is reserved for you and only you. Please be kind and give at least 48 hours notice if you need to reschedule or cancel. It’s not easy to find a replacement with only 24 hours. Maybe one day I’ll have an assistant to help me with paperwork and scheduling, but I’m currently a one woman show.
Please be sure to let me know if any changes to your medical history.
I am so grateful to have all my amazing clients!

Three ways to make the most out of your massage
1. Skip the caffeine afterward. A massage puts your nervous system in a parasympathetic state, which basically means your body is in healing mode and your internal pharmacy is working. Caffeine instantly changes that. Working out after a massage has a similar effect. I recommend an easy walk outside or some light stretching or yoga if you need to move right after your session.
2. Show up to your massage hydrated. Muscles and fascia are more pliable when they’re well hydrated. I can’t work well with dehydrated tissue. It’s like beef jerky.
3. Do your homework. If you come see me often, you know I give out exercise and stretching prescriptions for you to do on your own. Many pain patterns come from muscle imbalances, and reducing those will help you be your best self!

What a privilege it has been to spend the last week and a half deepening my Thai massage practice and exploring the incredible country of Costa Rica. I joined a group of just 10 other people and our wonderful teacher. I learned some new techniques and helped to reignite my passion for this beautiful art. I am relaxed and revitalized and ready to get back to my peeps. Can’t wait to show you guys some of the things I’ve learned!
