Keeping up with Asher Hayes Asher Hayes is 10 years old. He has 3rd degree burns on 20% of his body all on his legs. He was burned in an accident on Easter Sunday. He is such a miracle!

He is Baptist Health in Jackson MS. We are working to recover!

Today was a milestone! Asher has been going to OT and has PT immediately following! He won’t allow anyone but his therapist in OT see his legs. But today he came out without his compression and did PT. His therapist sent me this she was so proud of him and I am too! This was a HUGE HURDLE! This boy never ceases to amaze me! Today we are thankful for all the help we have gotten! Asher’s compression was soo expensive! Lacy Bryan called me and said that their foundation had money allocated for Asher. I can’t say thank you enough! So Asher took a pic of himself in them for her😂😂I swear this boy is too cute!!!!

Today we conquered a HUGE FEAR! Asher’s favorite restaurant has been Hibachi for as long as I can remember. But since the accident the FIRE was a no go! Today he asked to go. Of course I said yes! He held my hand so tight and the lit that fire. He flinched and then looked at me with the biggest smile! “Rana I did it!!” I said “Yes you did buddy!” I am beyond proud of how strong and determined my baby is!!! I can’t help but squeeze him extra tight today! Best lunch date EVER!

This happy boy got to go to his favorite place in the world! The beach is his happy place. Unfortunately salt water and healed grafts don’t mix! So he made the best of it between the pool, water slide, Hot tub and indoor pool! H is beyond sweet. He never complained! I am so thankful he is so kind hearted! I am blessed!

In the words of Camp Catahoula “There is No Tired Like Camp Tired!!!” I can’t wait to share pics of how much fun Asher has had this week!!! He has one more sleep until he comes home! We sure have missed him but knowing he has had such a great week makes it bearable!!!

UPDATE UPDATE Asher is doing so much better. Headed to Camp this weekend! Camp for kids who have experienced burns sponsored by Baton Rouge General!
