🎣🌊 Mel Ramirez’ Annual Fishing Tournament 2026 | Same-Day Edit Highlights
They say the sea does not reward those who are merely lucky—it rewards those who are patient, resilient, and courageous enough to face its uncertainties.
Today, despite less-than-ideal weather conditions, we were blessed to successfully conduct Mel Ramirez’ Annual Fishing Tournament. While the winds and waves tested us throughout the day, safety remained our highest priority. Through careful planning, teamwork, and cooperation from everyone involved, we were able to execute this event safely and successfully.
A true fisherman is not measured by the size of his catch alone. He is defined by his patience during long hours of waiting, his respect for nature, his discipline in following safety measures, and his determination to keep going despite challenges. Today’s tournament was a reflection of those values. Every participant demonstrated the spirit of a true fisherman—resilient, responsible, and passionate about the craft that has become a way of life for many in our community.
This event would not have been possible without the support of our dedicated volunteers and partner organizations.
Our sincerest gratitude to:
Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Calatagan for ensuring the safety and security of all participants at sea. MDRRMO for extending their assistance and readiness to respond, helping us prevent accidents and ensure everyone’s well-being. PNP and CACG for maintaining peace, order, and safety for all spectators and participants on shore. Palitakan (Ang Pulo Mangroves Women Organization) for generously volunteering their time and efforts in support of the tournament. Samahan ng mga Mangingisda for guiding us throughout the program and tournament proper, sharing their experience and helping ensure the event’s success.
Most importantly, we would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the St. Michael’s Organizers and Staff.
From the very beginning, you have been the backbone of this event—conducting meetings, processing documents, disseminating information to participants and volunteers, handling logistics, coordinating operations, and ensuring that everyone was accommodated and taken care of. Your dedication often went unseen, but it never went unnoticed.
Thank you for your patience, commitment, understanding, passion, and genuine love for service. This tournament would not have happened without your precious helping hands and countless hours of hard work behind the scenes.
To our fishermen, thank you for reminding us that success is not always measured by the weight of the catch, but by the character shown throughout the journey. The sea teaches lessons that go far beyond fishing—patience in waiting, courage in uncertainty, humility in victory, and perseverance through every challenge. ❤️
May the spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and respect for one another continue to guide us long after the tournament has ended. May every fisherman return home safely, carrying new memories, friendships, and experiences to cherish.
Stay tuned as we share more snippets, memorable moments, and the official winners of Mel Ramirez’ Annual Fishing Tournament 2026! 🏆🎣
