In the 2026 Herb of the Year™️ Turmeric book by the Janice Cox has written a chapter on how to make turmeric sun prints and I have used her instructions to make bookmarks for the turmeric books I have in stock and will be selling at my upcoming Turmeric talk on Sat., May 30, at 9:30a at Walter Andersen’s Nursery in Poway, CA. I have limited books to bring to the presentation, so sales will be first come, first served. I hope to see some of you there!

Collie Rescue Transporter Tails: for Mothers’ Day, after church in San Diego County, I had the privilege of transporting this already rescued mother and son from Riverside County to San Bernardino County, from their temporary rehab to the next stop on their journey to finding happy healthy furever homes. Both are so sweet! The mother is a rare all white blue merle collie and the son is just like my Derby, a white-factored blue merle - except, unlike Derbs, this cutie pie pup has a blue eye! (Also he has a charming rakish look due to a missing tip to one ear- adorable!)

One of these four photographs taken by me won a second place red ribbon at the recent 90th Vista Garden Club Flower Show. There were three possible categories to enter and I entered (2 photos each) in two of the three; black and white garden photos and unique containers. The competition was stiff! There were close to 20 pictures competing in each category. Can you guess which of these won the red ribbon? This poll goes three days and then when it’s over I will tell you which photo won the red ribbon… 😁

Collie Transporter Tails: This our second time around together - first I was this girl’s Collie Uber previously from being rescued to a vet, then to a nursing home where she recuperated from complications of giving birth. She’s on the mend (yay!) and now on her way to her foster home for more love and lots(!) of training. If I’m lucky, in a few months we’ll meet again when I might get to take her to her forever home.

One of the reasons I love collies is that they laugh at my jokes! I transported this rescue recently to a vet check and then to a foster family and we had a grand old time on the trip making each other laugh.
