Shab-e Yalda 🌙 | A Celebration of the Turning Seasons
In the ancient rhythms of nature, each season held a deeper meaning, a reminder that time is sacred, and change is purposeful.
Spring brought renewal. 💚
Summer, vitality and fullness. 🌸
Autumn, reflection and release. 🤔
And now comes Winter, with its long nights and quiet invitations to rest, gather, and trust. 🩷
Tonight, on Shab-e Yalda, we mark the longest night of the year , a threshold moment. Yalda honors the victory of light over darkness, not in battle, but in patience. From this night forward, light begins its quiet return as days grow longer.
Many mid-winter festivals naturally cluster around the solstice because ancient societies marked the return of light (daylight or sun), a powerful human symbol of hope, renewal, and survival (see comment below 👇🏻).
So we light candles.
We gather with loved ones.
We share food, poetry, and presence, staying awake through the night as an act of trust in what is coming.
Shab-e Yalda reminds us:
Light does not rush.
But it always returns.
✨ Yalda Mubarak ✨
May light rise gently in your life, just as it does in the sky. 🩷🌸
