Elijah's Baby Bucket List

Elijah's Baby Bucket List It's about living life with joy and gratitude, even in adversity. Elijah has Lissencephaly. An extremely rare terminal congenital malformation of the brain.

Elijah has Lissencephaly, a rare terminal and incurable condition that causes the brain to develop abnormally; Elijah's story is about more than just ticking off items on a list. They said he wouldn't live to be two and he turned four in January! He is doing so many things they said he would never do! Our family has set up Elijah's Baby Bucket List to provide awareness for Lissencephely and opport

unities to live his life to the fullest. This is a terminally ill boys’ mission to spread joy while making friends and memories.

This morning felt like poetry, the kind written by a woman who is, without question, a breathtakingly beautiful hot mess doing her absolute best.

We’re on another epic adventure, the kind where the suitcase is half zipped, the coffee is lukewarm, and the sunrise hits just right anyway. Somewhere between the chaos and the magic this morning, life tapped me on the shoulder and whispered, "Look how far you’ve come."

Because today I woke up to find that the book I poured my whole heart into, the one stitched together with courage, grief, grit, and hope, isn’t just traveling the world. It is selling internationally, and it is sitting at #2 on Amazon’s Bestseller list.

Me. A single mom who looks for her phone while she's talking on it. A woman who cries at sunrises. A human who has rebuilt her life more times than she can count. Somehow, this is my job. Somehow, this is my life.

And I’m standing here in the middle of the breathtakingly beautiful hot mess feeling humbled, grateful, undone, and wildly proud.

To every single one of you who believed in this story, thank you. You helped this book grow wings. You helped it soar. You helped it land in places I’ve only dreamed of.

Here’s to the next chapter, written with equal parts courage, chaos, and grace.

Still taking this in!

Being quoted in China Daily, one of the largest English‑language news outlets in the world, is something I’m still trying to wrap my head around. Humbled doesn’t even begin to cover it. Excited, grateful, a little stunned… all of it.

And honestly, I keep thinking about this!

The scared girl who snapped this picture standing at the edge of the ocean and the unknown seven years ago would have never been able to imagine the life we live today.

She had big dreams but shaky confidence. She didn’t know how any of it would work.(Sometimes I still don't that's a whole chapter in my next book) She just kept choosing courage in small, stubborn ways the kind that don’t look like much at the time but end up changing everything. She did it, afraid! With copious amounts of coffee, incredible friends, and unshakable faith!

I started this platform as a single mom trying to make the world feel a little more possible for families like mine. Seeing it reach this far reminds me why we do what we do! To open doors, expand horizons, and make sure every family feels welcome wherever they dream of going.

If you want to read the piece, it's below!

Here’s to the doors opening, the families traveling, and the girl who kept going even when she was scared.

Grateful. Excited. Inspired to keep going.
The world is big, and families deserve to experience all of it.

Australia! What!?!?

My book is already on sale over there, and I know this because my phone lit up with texts this afternoon like, “Hey, did you know you’re in Australia now?”

No. No, I did not.
I was over here minding my business, eating snacks, fully believing I had at least two more weeks to emotionally prepare for “international author” status.

But they said, “Nah, mate, we’re launching today,” and honestly… I respect the confidence. They just grabbed it straight off the shelves like, “We’ll take that, thanks.”

If you spot it in the wild or buy a copy, send me a photo so I can dramatically gasp and show my mini-humans like, “See? Your mother is OUT HERE.” and they can roll their eyes and sigh dramatically and call me "Cringe!"

The Mother Road has officially gone global, and I’m over here pretending this is totally normal and not the coolest thing that’s ever happened.

What a difference a week makes. Last Sunday was cannolis for breakfast and passenger‑princess energy in California. This Sunday is not about productivity or catching up. It is about remembering how to breathe again.

Today, I am choosing the slower version of myself. The version that does not rush or push or pretend she is fine when she is running on fumes. We have been up since 4:00 a.m., and I am reminded that healing is not a finish line. It is a rhythm. A softening. A returning.

Adventure looks different for us this week, and that is okay.

Sometimes, the bravest thing we do is let the world shrink down to what we can hold. A quiet morning, a warm cup, a child’s laugh, a moment where nothing is demanded of us except presence.

This is the reset I needed. Not a checklist, but a recalibration. A reminder that rest is part of the journey.

If you are in a season of healing or slowing down or redefining what adventure looks like, you are not behind. You are becoming.

Here is to gentler Sundays and softer landings.

Traveling with a medically complex or disabled child means you learn pretty quickly that “accessible” doesn’t always mean accessible. And honestly? I’ve had too many moments where we arrived exhausted, hopeful, bags in hand… only to discover the room wasn’t even close to what we were promised.

So these are the 5 questions I ALWAYS ask before booking a hotel, the ones that protect our peace, our dignity, and our ability to actually enjoy the adventure we worked so hard to make happen.

Because families like ours deserve more than “we think it’s accessible.”
We deserve clarity.
We deserve honesty.
We deserve spaces that work for us, not the other way around.

If you’re planning a trip soon, save this.
If you know a family who travels with extra considerations, share it.
And if you’ve ever had an accessibility surprise at check‑in… you’re not alone.

Today’s adventure wasn’t a vacation, but it was absolutely epic. We hit the road for a 6 hour trip to trial a My Way gait trainer for Elijah, one more step toward giving him the strength, mobility, and freedom he deserves. These aren’t the glamorous travel days, but they’re the ones that shape our story in the most meaningful ways.

We’re so grateful for Sunrise Medical, the team behind both Elijah’s wheelchair and the gait trainer we tested today. Their support shows up in the equipment that helps him move through the world with dignity, and now in something even bigger.

We’re excited to share that Sunrise Medical is officially sponsoring our Caregiving Mom’s Refresh Retreat that happens this May in Panama City Beach, FL. A company that invests in mobility is once again investing in the moms who make that possible, and that means everything.

Not every adventure comes with palm trees or plane tickets. Sometimes it’s a long drive, a new piece of equipment, and a reminder that we’re surrounded by people who believe in our kids and in the moms who show up every single day.

I just want to start by saying how incredible you all are. Yesterday, you skyrocketed us from 55 all the way to #2 on Amazon’s Best Seller list, and I’m still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor.

This community shows up with so much heart, and you’ve turned a little dream built at my kitchen table into something with real momentum and real impact. Thank you for every preorder, every share, every message, every ounce of belief. You’re the reason families like ours get to feel seen.

We’re not done yet, but wow, what a moment.

If you haven’t grabbed your copy yet, now is the perfect time. Every single preorder helps us push this mission even further and helps more families feel seen. Let’s see how far we can take this together.
