Dear Colleagues, Friends, and Supporters,

We are pleased to announce that our new medical organization in Washington, PAMS DMV (Polish American Medical Society of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia), is now fully registered and ready to welcome new members.

If you are interested in joining PAMS DMV, we warmly invite you to visit our website at https://pamsdmv.org/ and express your interest in membership. Upon receipt of your expression of interest and approval by the Board, an invoice for the annual membership fee will be issued.

The inaugural meeting of the organization will take place at the Polish Consulate in Washington on June 18 at 6:00 PM.

We cordially invite physicians, scientists, medical professionals, and supporters of our mission to become members and take an active part in the work and vision of PAMS DMV.

We also encourage you to participate in the Congress of Polish Medical Organizations in Wrocław, which will be held on September 10–12, 2026:

PAMS DMV vice president of operations Sylwia Fowler, MD, was invited to participate in a panel discussion about domestic violence, following the screening of "Dom Doby" (Home, Sweet Home) during the 3rd Polish Film Festival, alongside the lead actress Agata Turkot and other experts on this topic.

It was incredibly rewarding to hear that after the film premiere/screening, many women came forward, breaking the silence and reporting the domestic abuse. With this example, we can see the power of togetherness, community, and media.
