Curious about getting a reading but have questions?
A tarot reading uses cards that reflect a journey through life, toward enlightenment. The cards have specific meanings, but those meanings can also be influenced and interpreted based on the person receiving the reading. An oracle reading uses cards that are left more to interpretation as they have their own messages within them, not set meanings.

Both types of readings can be used for self-discovery, reflection and decision-making.

We have readers who offer
• tarot readings
• oracle readings
• both types of cards in a reading together
• one or both types of cards and add mediumship
• one or both types of cards and add crystal casting
• one or both types of cards and add bone throwing
• one or both types of cards and add runes

We have so many highly trained and extremely well-reviewed readers

I like to use this as an example of how ingredients can be different for different witches. That’s normal, ok, inevitable. Cultures are different, spirituality is different, learned memory is different. The only one who needs to understand the meaning of something is you.

Long before the word witch became heavy with fear, there were women who stood close to the dead.

They washed the bodies. They lit the candles. They sat beside the grieving. They listened to dreams, watched for signs, covered mirrors, opened windows, whispered prayers, prepared herbs, and knew which silence belonged to sorrow.

Some were mourners. Some were seers. Some were healers, midwives, deathwives, wise women, or spirit workers. Their names changed from place to place, yet their role carried the same weight. They helped the living survive what death had touched.

These women understood that grief was not only emotion. It was a threshold.

When someone died, the house changed. The air felt different. Time moved strangely. People heard footsteps, saw birds at windows, dreamed of the departed, felt sudden cold, or sensed a presence near the bed. Older traditions did not always dismiss these moments. They were treated as signs that the veil had thinned.

The women who knew death were asked to read those signs.

They knew when to comfort, when to warn, when to cleanse, when to leave offerings, when to speak the name of the dead, and when to tell the living not to follow.

That knowledge made them sacred.

Later, it also made them dangerous.

A woman who could sit beside death without flinching was not easy to control. A woman who knew herbs, birth, blood, grief, dreams, spirits, and endings carried a kind of authority that did not come from church, crown, husband, or law.

So the old helper became suspicious.

The mourner became uncanny.
The healer became feared.
The seer became unstable.
The deathwife became witch.

Yet beneath the accusation, the older truth remains.

These women were not dark because they loved death. They were powerful because they understood passage.

They stood where most people broke.

They spoke across the silence.

They reminded the living that death was not only an ending, but a doorway that demanded reverence, protection, and care.
