That's me and my sweet son, Harrison. My pregnancy with him and his birth and the way I prepared for both changed everything for me.

🏵️ I encourage all of my clients to learn, prepare, and get the support they need to make decisions, ask questions, and have a positive birth experience (even if plans change).

I want women and couples to know more so they can make decisions in pregnancy and birth that align with their goals and core values.

Sometimes the more you know the more questions you may have and the more you may want to say ‘no’ to.

🏵️ This is what advocating for yourself is all about.

▶️ Head to the link in my bio to get my free guide to advocating for yourself and your autonomy in pregnancy and birth and all the ways you can say ‘no’.

I want to say that in NO WAY am I telling you to decline every single thing or even most tests and procedures.

You need to decide according to your own beliefs and preferences. I also want you to remember that you do indeed have the right to decline in EVERY SINGLE circumstance unless you’ve been clinically diagnosed as incompetent to make decisions.

It is also completely valid to decide to not learn anything, to not prepare at all! That's up to you!

These things are helpful for coping and comfort in labor. To help mom relax a little and sometimes that does the trick to move labor right along and sometimes it just gives mom a moment to rest a little.

All of these things are either free (provided by the hospital) or very low cost.

These won't necessarily take all the pain and discomfort away (sometimes a position change can!!), but can be a distraction, comfort, or encouragement!

Inspired by a recent conversation I had with a client...

Sometimes (or a lot of the time) the best thing you can do is put the phone, put the Internet away!

We have all gone down a rabbit hole...but next time stop yourself and seek some good encouragement, focus on the good things, and stay in tune with YOUR body.

I am ALL about education, but it can tip into overwhelm. And this line is different for everyone.

Who are you you calling to avoid spiraling?

How can you destress instead of feeding the anxiety?
