🇨🇴 Kenny se desempeña como Asistente de Conducta en Eleos Family Services. Para Kenny, su cultura latina significa familia, trabajo duro y estar siempre ahí el uno para el otro. Se trata de recordar sus raíces, apreciar las tradiciones con las que creció y recordar los valores que han moldeado lo que es hoy.

🌟 STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Meet Kenny Rivera, Behavioral Assistant (BA)! 🌟

🇨🇴Kenny serves as a Behavioral Assistant at Eleos Family Services.

For Kenny, his Latino culture means family, hard work, and always being there for one another. It’s about remembering his roots, appreciating the traditions he grew up with, and remembering the values that have shaped who he is today.

“Drawing from my culture, family, and community, I am able to stay grounded, work through challenges, and support the people around me. My upbringing taught me the importance of creating strong bonds, perseverance, and being there for others, which are values I will always carry with me, both personally and professionally.”

These values have shaped the way I interact with others and have helped me remain understanding, supportive, and committed to helping others grow, especially in my work with youth.”

🎉Direct Support Professionals (DSP) Recognition Week🎉

🌟 DSP SPOTLIGHT: Meet Nancy Miller! 🌟

Today we are celebrating Nancy, who is an excellent example of a dedicated DSP! It's a pleasure having her as part of our Eleos Family Services team!

What I do, most of all: “I assist my individual with daily living skills such as grooming, dressing, preparing meals, going out into the community, like doctor’s appointments and grocery shopping. This is to help them as much as I can to become as independent as they can be! Most of all keeping them in a safe, loving and clean environment.” 💪🏽

💬 What I believe: "As a DSP you not only want the client to trust you but, you also want the family members to feel stress free also knowing that at least for a few hours a day, they know that their loved ones are in good hands.”

Why it matters: “The reward is getting smiles from the individuals and their family members.” 🧡

Tackling Social Isolation & Loneliness

😢Loneliness isn't just an emotional hardship—it is a critical mental health risk factor.
For many adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across our nation, chronic isolation is a daily reality.

Transportation obstacles, limited accessible social spaces, and communication barriers mean over 40% of adults with IDD report feeling consistently lonely.

Left unaddressed, prolonged social isolation directly increases the risk of severe depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation.
