Walked into the library and saw this!

And no, I didn’t put it there…the librarians did.

I wrote Thinking Outside The Soil because I had something I thought was worth teaching.

Now it’s sitting on a library display, doing that without me.

If you've thought about hydroponic fodder for your flock or herd, this book is a great place to start.

Dairy producers:

I am currently looking for a progressive dairy operation interested in participating in a hydroponic fodder research trial as part of a Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) proposal.

Participating farms would receive:
• A hydroponic fodder system installed and operated on-site at no cost
• Cash compensation for participation
• Minimal data sharing requirements
• The option to keep the system at the conclusion of the project

The study is designed to evaluate the economic and production impacts of hydroponic fodder under real-world commercial dairy conditions.

Throwback to a -20°F day in January when this kid Junior first started his journey “under my wing”. I remember asking him if he liked the cold, to which he loudly said no. So I said, “Perfect, it’s time to learn about ‘Chickening in the cold’”
