Mercury in Cancer square Saturn conjunct Pallas in Aries. Pluto retrograde in Aquarius trine Ceres in Gemini – A new background story comes into play for the next two months as Mercury makes the first connection to Pallas Athena. Sometimes people say no, a rule interferes with a plan, or doubt creeps in and hammers at the door of inspiration. Take charge – acknowledge the feelings as they arise, work on a new strategy. Don’t let old stories tell you that you can never have what you want. Whilst sometimes we must accept defeat, we don’t have to stay floored. Mop up. Treat yourself to some comfort food. Then get back up and start again.

Because the connection between Ceres and Pluto reminds us that spring always follows winter and that a pruned apple tree will produce more fruit next season. Life is complicated and yet simple. Plants adapt to their environment and so can you. Give yourself options. Let go of the need to rush when building your next empire. Don’t take discomfort as a sign that nothing’s working. Set strong boundaries to ensure your personal time isn’t constantly eroded. Inhabit the quiet patience of trees. Tend to your roots.

"I have found, through years of practice, that people garden in order to make something grow; to interact with nature; to share, to find sanctuary, to heal, to honor the earth, to leave a mark. Through gardening, we feel whole as we make our personal work of art upon our land." quote by Julie Moir Messervy. Artist ~ Arthur Hacker 1899

Sometimes we are thick in the tangle
The bramble, the hedges
A bind

As much as it tries-
The way through
Is not always through the mind

Sometimes it’s ok
Necessary, critical
To go blind

To trust the soft tips
Of unknowing
And the hearthsense
Of listening

To embody the way
To embody the through

To flickerdance
To heartfeel

To alive
As a verb
Not an adjective or noun.

To alive again
To alive again
To alive

It may be the first day of your life, the prime of youth or several decades in, when Medicine Woman calls you.

Your name on her list.
Her new initiate.

She crept in whilst you were sleeping, when you over-exerted, when you kissed him, or ate that, or lived there or pushed too hard just one time too many.

She crept in and curled up in your cells, your heart, waiting to meet you.

Longing to know you.
Longing for you to know her, at last.

And what feels like the end is in fact a beginning, of a new road, an unknown path of pain and healing.

She will show you how to slow down, she will run her fingers roughly through your life and help you sort the busyness from what matters, she will show you how to find support… and who you really are, beyond your roles and expectations… and even more beyond the System the world has forced you into.

She transports you into the timelessness of big pains and tiny joys.

Initiates you into your strength.
Into your love.
Into your courage.
Into a world beyond your control.

She has sent me an invitation.

I see yours too, tucked in your bag, amongst all the receipts and bills, the pens and detritus of life.

Take it out.
It is time.

Dopamine isn’t something you scroll into. It’s something you build. Your habits. Your drive. Your motivation... What you repeat, what you finish, and what you feel. Most people aren’t depleted. They’re overstimulated and undersatisfied. The reset can be simple, but not easy, for most modern folks. The overstimulated dopa-circus of today can go through major withdrawals by just unplugging.

Here’s a short list, with an herbalist-emphasized twist:
- bitter tonics to wake up the vagus nerve
- scent to anchor the limbic system
- morning sun to set your rhythm
- adaptogenic teas to lower chronic stress
- breathwork to regulate the nervous system

Clear desire → clear direction
Less novelty → more sensitivity
Hands in something real → immediate feedback

And yes, plants that speak to the chemistry: Mucuna (L-DOPA), matcha (L-theanine), lavender (linalool), tulsi (adaptogenic ligands)... but none of it replaces the real work. Close loops. Finish what you start, and let your body register the reward.

Make a 🌸🍵 MUCUNA Rose Matcha Latte to open the heart + naturally enhance dopamine:

1 tbsp rose powder
1 tsp mucuna powder
2 tsp ceremonial matcha
½ tsp Anima Mundi Euphoria Elixir (optional)
4 oz hot water + 2 oz milk

Whisk Anima Mundi’s rose + mucuna in hot (not boiling) water. Whisk matcha separately until frothy. Combine, top with milk (4oz), add Euphoria if you’re up for it, and enjoy! 💗

What’s your favorite screen-free dopamine routine?

Balm of Gilead is one of the oldest natural remedies out there, with references dating back to biblical times. 🧙‍♂️

When used correctly, this healing salve is known to relieve pain and ease inflammation thanks to natural compounds like salicylates.

𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁: Though biblical mentions would have been derived from trees found in the Middle East, it’s most common now for Balm of Gilead to be made from certain poplar trees found in North America. The balm is actually a resin extracted from the sticky buds of 𝘗𝘰𝘱𝘶𝘭𝘶𝘴 𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘢 (𝘉𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘢𝘮 𝘗𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘳) or 𝘗𝘰𝘱𝘶𝘭𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘤𝘢.

After making an oil infusion from the buds, you can mix it with beeswax for a thicker, easier-to-apply consistency. From here, it can be used as a topical pain reliever, as a tonic for rashes, burns, and insect bites, or even for respiratory support when used in salves or steam inhalation. It can even be used as a regular moisturizer!

This timeless and time-honoured herbal remedy is a great reminder to look to the past. For thousands of years, humans have relied on remedies like this one, and we can get all the same benefits when we turn to nature’s pharmacy.
