What I learned changed the way I approach healing forever-

There was a time when every symptom felt like bad news.

A positive lab result. A new flare. More anxiety. Another thing that seemed "wrong."

I remember looking at my autoimmune markers climbing and feeling terrified.

At the same time, I was trying to help my daughter through her own health challenges.

And honestly, my entire focus was on getting rid of symptoms.

Fix it. Make it stop.But somewhere along the way, something shifted.

I started noticing that symptoms weren't showing up randomly.

My anxiety wasn't random.
My daughter's reactions weren't random.
The inflammation wasn't random.

The body kept responding to stress, gut health, sleep, nourishment, nervous system state, and everything else we were asking it to adapt to.

That realization completely changed the way I approach healing.

Because instead of constantly asking: "How do I get rid of this symptom?"

I started asking: "Why is this symptom showing up in the first place?"

That question changed everything for me.

It ultimately helped me normalize my own autoimmune markers, improve my energy, and better understand what my daughter's body had been trying to communicate all along.

And honestly, it's still the question I ask every day when working with clients.

Not- What symptom do we fight next?

But- What pattern are we missing?

Food reactions are often more connected than people realize 💗

When someone develops eczema, reflux, digestive issues, food sensitivities, congestion, chronic inflammation, or other symptoms, it's easy to focus only on the food itself.

But over the years, both personally and professionally, I've found that food reactions are often part of a much bigger picture.

Gut health. Nervous system stress. Immune system patterns. Inflammation. Environmental triggers. Stress load.

And sometimes things that have been building quietly beneath the surface for a long time.

This is one of the reasons I don't believe in one-size-fits-all healing.

The goal isn't simply to remove more foods.

It's to better understand what the body may be communicating and why it's reacting in the first place.

Why your anxiety might not be just anxiety 💕

Sometimes the root cause isn't where people think-

A lot of people tell me they feel anxious even when nothing seems "wrong."

Their mind won't stop racing. Their body feels on edge. They can't fully relax no matter what they try.

They feel overwhelmed, irritable, exhausted, or stuck in a constant state of tension.

And sometimes life is genuinely hard right now. A stressful job. A difficult relationship. A season that just feels heavy.

But sometimes the body is carrying more than people realize.

Poor sleep. Blood sugar swings. Gut issues. Inflammation. A nervous system stuck in survival mode for way too long.

When all of that piles up, anxiety stops being just an emotional thing. It becomes a whole body experience.

This is why I never separate physical health from mental and emotional health. They are deeply connected.

I've seen people spend years trying to think their way out of symptoms. But their body was still struggling to keep up underneath.

And I've also seen people focus only on supplements while ignoring the emotional stress their body was carrying.

Usually it's both.

The body and the mind are always talking to each other.

So when someone tells me they're struggling with anxiety, I'm usually curious about a lot more than just the anxiety itself.

How are they sleeping?
How is digestion?
How much stress has the body been carrying?
What might the body be trying to communicate underneath the surface?

Because sometimes anxiety isn't just anxiety.

Sometimes it's a clue that the body needs support in ways people haven't considered yet.

I still remember the overwhelm of trying to figure out what was actually safe to feed my daughter when I realized how reactive and sensitive her body was 💗

At one point, it wasn’t just obvious ingredients anymore. She was even reacting to meat from animals that had been fed corn and soy.

That realization opened my eyes to how deeply food quality, sourcing, and the health of the entire system can matter for some people.

During that season, I found Christina from Grillin’ Grillin' Meats- a regenerative farmer raising corn- and soy-free animals with so much care and integrity.

And honestly, I still get emotional remembering this…

Her family happened to be driving from Minnesota to the East Coast and literally packed a trunk full of meat to bring my order across the country for us.

At a time when I felt exhausted, scared, and like I was constantly searching for answers, it felt like such a gift and such a moment of deep relief.

Because when your child is reacting to food, finding something that finally feels safe can feel life-changing.

What if inflammation isn’t random either? 💕

A client once told me her body felt like the enemy.

The flare-ups. The brain fog. The exhaustion that never quit.

And honestly, I think a lot of people quietly feel exactly that way.

Here’s what changed everything for me:

What if inflammation isn’t random at all?

What if your body is actually responding to something… and most of us were never taught how to listen?

Because chronic inflammation is usually a response. Not a random mystery.

Stress. Gut health. Poor sleep. Living in survival mode for too long.

The body responds to all of it.

And eventually it starts screaming because it’s been whispering for years and nobody understood what it was trying to say.

That shift completely changed the way I approach healing.

Instead of only asking how to suppress symptoms, I started asking something different-

What might the body actually be trying to communicate here?

“Healthy” foods are making some people feel worse… and most don’t understand why.

I’ve seen people start eating “cleaner” and suddenly feel:
more bloated, more inflamed, more anxious, more itchy, more reactive, more exhausted.

After...
More smoothies.
More spinach.
More kombucha.
More avocado.
More fermented foods.
More bone broth.

And instead of feeling healthier- their body starts struggling more.

This is one of the biggest reasons I believe one-size-fits-all diets can become so confusing and frustrating.

Because sometimes it’s not the food itself.

Sometimes it’s the state the body is already in before the food is even introduced.

And when the body is already overloaded underneath the surface, even foods considered “healthy” can suddenly start feeling like too much.
