As Police Week 2026 has come to an end for us- I’ve struggled to even find the words for this week.
Numerous times we have attended Police Week as a LEO family, and this year as vendors. And it hit different- so different.
It was never about sales for us.
The HUNDREDS of conversations. Bill actually lost his voice! Iykyk 😉
The hugs. The mutually shared tears. The stories shared by families, survivors, and people who simply “get it.” Truly the most powerful and humbling experience I’ve ever had. Many times I didn’t feel worthy.
There’s something sacred about standing in a space where people carry both pride and pain at the same time.
This week reminded us why My Lt Leo matters in the first place.
My vision for My Lt Leo began the first time I ever went to Police Week. I told Bill, “we will be vendors here one day.” He replied, “Amy, we don’t have anything to sale.” My response, “Bet!!!” And My Lt Leo was born.
And here we are this year with My Lt Leo and Lucky! but the takeaway- we still don’t have anything to “sell.” I actually felt guilty with each transaction and wished I could have given each and every single one away.
The end goal is and always will be- fostering connections between people, families, fathers, mothers-their children.
The weight of the badge does not go unnoticed and just because we may not know them all- we WILL HONOR, RESPECT, LOVE and PRAY for them all 💙
We are deeply humbled to have been a small part of it.
Love, Amy and Bill 💙
