Bailey
It has taken a few days to write these words, as the grief was still too near. It still doesn’t seem real that you are gone.
Simply put girl, you saved us. When you came into our life as a little thing 7 years ago, we were broken, having lost Finn just 3 months prior. You opened us up to love again, and gave us a reason to love again. Your silly personality, infectious and adventurous spirit, and never ending protection for our family made our home complete. Through the years, you came to make our family even more complete and full of life - from Bear, to Beau, to helping Rowan grow into a wild little toddler, to protecting Alli and this soon to be new addition to our family until your last day.
Walks around the neighborhood won’t be the same without you. Running through the park won’t be the same. The lonely tennis balls and frisbees left outside leave a stark reminder of the hole that you left, and the emptiness that re-opens with little reminders of your passing. Our pain will subside over time, and the wounds in our hearts will scar. We will move forward with your memory.
You will always be our first girl.
We will miss you forever.
