Staying hydrated is one of the simplest ways to protect your health during the summer heat.

Drink water throughout the day, carry a water bottle when you’re outside, and choose water over sugary drinks when possible. Hydration helps your body regulate temperature, maintain energy, and lower your risk of heat-related illness.

Watch for signs of dehydration, including dizziness, headache, dry mouth, fatigue, dark urine, or feeling overheated.

This summer, make water a priority. 💧

Whether you’re at the pool, beach, lake, or splash pad, simple safety habits can help prevent accidents and keep everyone healthy.

Always swim with a buddy, supervise children closely, follow posted signs, check the weather, and get out of the water right away if you hear thunder or see lightning.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and enjoy the water this summer!

Summer picnics, beach days, and backyard BBQs are better when food safety comes first. ☀️

Before you eat outside, remember to keep cold foods cold, separate raw and ready-to-eat items, wash hands or use hand sanitizer, cook foods thoroughly, and when in doubt, throw it out.

A few simple steps can help keep your summer meals safe and enjoyable all season long.

June is Men’s Health Month. A reminder that taking care of your health doesn’t have to be complicated. Small check-ins like scheduling your annual exam, moving your body, supporting your mental health, eating heart-healthy foods, and knowing your numbers can make a big difference.

This month, encourage the men in your life to prioritize their health and take that next step toward prevention. 💙

Clean water starts with knowing what’s in it.

Drinking water quality can vary depending on where your water comes from, which is why staying informed is an important part of protecting your health and your household.

Aquarion customers can review the latest Drinking Water Quality Report to learn more about their local water system and recent testing results. Private well residents should keep up with routine well maintenance and testing to help identify potential concerns early.

The CDC recommends testing private well water at least once a year for total coliform bacteria, nitrates, total dissolved solids, and pH levels.

Strokes can happen at any age, but knowing your risk factors is an important step in prevention.

High blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, smoking, lack of physical activity, alcohol use, family history, and age can all increase stroke risk.

The good news: small healthy changes can make a difference. Talk with your healthcare provider about your risk and what steps you can take to protect your health.
