If you deal with reflux, you've probably been told the problem is too much stomach acid. In a lot of cases, it's actually too little.

Stomach acid does more than break down food. It's what triggers the lower esophageal sphincter, the valve between your stomach and esophagus, to close properly. Without enough acid, that valve doesn't get the signal it needs, and the small amount of acid you do have creeps upward instead of staying where it belongs.

This is also why antacids often stop working over time. They're addressing the acid that's there, not the root of the problem.

Low stomach acid doesn't stop at reflux. Left unaddressed, it can lead to nutrient deficiencies, SIBO, and gut dysbiosis, since acid also plays a role in absorbing key nutrients and keeping bacteria in check.

More electrolytes isn't automatically better hydration. It depends entirely on which minerals you're actually getting.

Most sodium-heavy drinks are solving a problem you may not have while ignoring the one you do.

Meet Jessie. ๐Ÿ‘‹

She was a pretty healthy eater. Did a lot of things right. But every single time she traveled, constipation hit hard -- and it completely took the fun out of going anywhere. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Her standard labs? Normal. Nothing to see here.
But functional testing told a completely different story. ๐Ÿ”ฌ

โœ… Depleted minerals.
โœ…Lacking beneficial bacteria.
โœ…Digestive insufficiency.
โœ…An overactive gut immune system.

Four things that were quietly driving her symptoms the whole time -- none of which showed up on a routine blood panel.

Once we had real data, we could actually do something with it.

We repleted her minerals, rebuilt her microbiome, improved her digestion, and adjusted her meals to give her gut what it actually needed. ๐ŸŒฑ

The result? Jessie travels now -- freely, comfortably, and without stressing about her gut. โœˆ๏ธ

If you have been told your labs are normal but you still feel terrible, that is not the whole picture. There is more to see -- you just need the right tests to see it.

She came to me with a supplement shelf full of things that were not working. ๐Ÿ’Š
Probiotics. Digestive enzymes. Gut health powders. She had tried them all. And she was still bloated, still uncomfortable, and still completely frustrated with her body.
Here is what changed everything: we stopped guessing and started testing.
What we found was a bacterial overgrowth that had been quietly driving her symptoms the whole time. Once we had real data, we could build a protocol that actually made sense for what was going on in her gut -- clearing out what was fueling the problem and rebuilding her microbiome in the right sequence. ๐Ÿ”ฌ
The result? She lost 15 pounds of inflammation. Her bloating improved significantly. And she finally understood what had been going on in her body all along. ๐Ÿ™Œ
This is what happens when you stop throwing random supplements at the problem and start addressing the root cause.
If this sounds like your story, you do not have to keep guessing. Link in bio to request an appointment. ๐Ÿ“ฒ

I know it's been quiet over here. I didn't disappear โ€” I got focused.

Two years ago, I stepped back from this space because I was burnt out, and honestly, because too much of my energy was going toward comparing myself to everyone else instead of showing up for the people I actually work with. Chasing trends and trying to stand out was taking time away from the thing that mattered most: my clients.

So I stepped away. And in that quiet, I found clarity I didn't expect. I got clear on how I actually want to show up for the people I serve. I shifted my marketing to strategies that felt aligned instead of exhausting. And I put more of my time into the work itself โ€” into my clients, not into keeping up appearances.

The result? My practice has grown exponentially more in these two years than it did when I was constantly online.

I am clearer about who I serve and how I help my clients. I have refined my business model to work better for my life and my clients. And I'm more confident than ever in my unique approach to health and nutrition.

I'm coming back now because I miss the community, and because I have genuinely helpful nutrition information I want to share with you. But I'm not here to chase trends or fight for attention. I'm here to be useful, to be authentic, and to stay connected to the people this work is actually for.

Glad to be back โ€” and looking forward to sharing more with you soon.

In health and hope,
Becky ๐Ÿ’›

A few thoughts from my heart after many months away from social media โค

This extended break was so restorative for my mental health and for the health of my business. I've been away from social media, but I haven't taken a step back from my nutrition practice at all.

I think I'll be coming back here soon, but it's going it's going to look different. I'll be here to share helpful and inspiring content, but I've made a shift in how I am marketing my business.

Using social media for marketing my practice no longer feels aligned with me.

In 2025, you'll be seeing me sharing some helpful content here, but also sharing more on my blog and maybe on YouTube later this year (that 2nd one is yet to be determined ๐Ÿ˜‚)

If you've been a client of mine, I would love for you to share about my services with your friends that might benefit and leave me a review on Google if you haven't already. This is how my practice is growing right now and what I'm choosing to lean in to.

If you're still here, thanks for reading and following along!

In health and hope,

Becky ๐Ÿ’•

Yes, I share parts of my life on this platform, including my own story with nutrition and the health habits that have helped me optimize my metabolism.

But you won't see me sharing photos or videos of myself in a bikini, implying that when you work with me, you can look like me.

Not that there's anything wrong with posting photos of yourself by the pool ๐Ÿ‘™

But this platform is full of health coaches and influencers sending the message, "follow my plan and you will look like me."

And it most cases, that's just not true.

Your body is unique, and there is no guarantee that if you eat and exercise exactly like someone else, you'll get a body like hers.

And this just sets us up for comparison, discouragement, and self-hatred. None of which is helpful for truly transforming your habits and your health.

So if no one's told you recently, your body is good.

Even if...

๐Ÿ‘‰ You have some work to do to improve your health

๐Ÿ‘‰You're going through a stage of life that's left you feeling like a stranger in your own body

๐Ÿ‘‰You've totally ignored your health for years

๐Ÿ‘‰ You've abused your body with years of dieting and restriction

๐Ÿ‘‰ or your body just isn't responding the way you think it should
..your body is good.

Stop looking for "the plan" that will give you the 10 steps to finally get a perfect body and start asking yourself what YOUR body needs to start thriving.

And if you have no idea where to start to figure out what your body needs, I can help ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is a hard truth about weight loss โฌ‡๏ธ

95% of people who go on a diet either fail to lose weight, or fail to keep it off.

Those numbers are bleak, but that doesn't mean we throw in the towel on attempting to reach a healthier weight.

It means we need a different strategy. Obviously, the way we've been taught to diet just doesn't work.

Why do diets fail?

1๏ธโƒฃ They're overly restrictive, and you just can't stick with it for the long term. If you love pasta, then you're only going to be able to stick with a keto diet for so long before you decide you just don't love your life without carbs.

2๏ธโƒฃ Typical diets slow down your metabolism, making is nearly impossible to maintain your weight loss. This is called metabolic adaptation! The faster you lose weight, the bigger the impact on your metabolism!

3๏ธโƒฃ Your diet didn't help you change your habits and lifestyle, or fix your relationship with food.

4๏ธโƒฃ You're trying to follow a cookie cutter plan instead of figuring out what works for YOUR life and YOUR body.

If you want to be a part of the 5% that actually loses weight and keeps it off, you have to commit to the long game.

Results that LAST requires...

๐Ÿ‘‰ Prioritizing a healthy metabolism over seeing the scale move as quickly as possible

๐Ÿ‘‰ Building habits that slowly become a part of who you are (instead of trying to add 10 new habits all at once)

๐Ÿ‘‰ Doing the mindset work to develop a healthier relationship with food. This one is non-negotiable for lasting results!

If you're ready to get off the yo-yo diet cycle and finally lose the weight for good, I'd love to help you. I'm opening 5๏ธโƒฃ 1:1 coaching spots for May!

DM me I'M READY and let's chat about how you can get started.

Calories simply aren't the whole story.

If you've ever tried to lose weight by following a 1200 calorie diet, you probably already know this is true.

You set your calorie goal for weight loss, you track everything you eat, and you start losing weight.

But a few weeks in...

๐Ÿ˜ซ You're hungry and cranky
๐Ÿ˜ซ You can't stop thinking about tortilla chips and ice cream
๐Ÿ˜ซ The scale stops moving and just won't budge

You wonder if your metabolism is broken. Or maybe you just don't have enough willpower.

I promise, this has nothing to do with your lack of willpower.

This strategy simply doesn't work for long term weight loss.

When it comes to weight loss, QUANTITY (how much you eat) matters, but so does QUALITY.

Going beyond calories and fueling your body with the right amount of nutrient-dense foods that also support gut health and hormone balance will lead to sustainable weight loss.

Oh yeah, and you'll also feel a heck uva lot better in your body ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

What are the best probiotics for weight loss?

Here are a few specific strains of bacteria that have been shown in studies to help with weight loss:

๐Ÿฆ  Bifidobacterium lactis B420 has been found to control body fat mass and lower waist circumference

๐Ÿฆ  Akkermansia muciniphila helps regulate metabolism and can support weight loss by lowering inflammation and improving insulin sensitivity

๐Ÿฆ  Lactobacillus gasseri: a study found that this strain of bacteria led to weight loss, reduced body fat, and lower waist circumference

๐Ÿฆ  Bifidobacterium breve has been found to significantly reduce body weight, hip circumference, and waist circumference

๐Ÿฆ  Lactobacillus rhamnosus: a study found that women taking this probiotic lost 50% more weight in 3 months than those not taking the supplement

๐Ÿฆ  Lactobacillus plantarum has been found to reduce body weight, lower inflammation, and improve insulin sensitivity

I often recommend targeted probiotics to my client, along with nutrition and lifestyle strategies to optimize gut health for sustainable weight loss!
