We spend so much time caring for our homes, cars, careers, and responsibilities - but often forget to care for the one thing that makes all of it possible: our body.

About two weeks ago, we conducted a half-day Vipassana (more specifically, Anapanasati) meditation "retreat" for a small group of children and teens.

We kept it gentle and introductory - just two 45-minute sittings with an hour break in between - to give kids a taste of the practice.

Some did surprisingly well. For others, even that amount of stillness was challenging — they were squirming, shifting positions, sighing, opening their eyes… And honestly, that is perfectly fine. For children, meditation can be just as challenging as it is for adults.

Perhaps even more so in today’s world. Kids - especially boys - often have so much energy, and sitting still for longer periods feels almost unnatural nowadays. Not just sitting, but concentrating on the breath while the mind constantly wants to run elsewhere.

At the same time, children may have an advantage adults often no longer have: fewer aches and pains while sitting. In yogic and meditative traditions, one explanation is that they have not yet accumulated as much tension or “karma” in the body as adults.

Challenging as it was, the kids said it was a good experience (and, of course, spending time with friends is always a plus 😊). One girl even began practicing in the days afterward as a way to de-stress and calm her mind.

It makes you wonder: if meditation and self-awareness were part of childhood education, what kind of world might we be living in?

The pollution destroying our planet does not begin in the oceans, the skies, or the streets. It begins within the human body and mind.

A world consumed by stress, greed, addiction, disconnect, and unconscious living inevitably creates external destruction. Toxic thoughts become toxic habits. Inner chaos manifests as overconsumption, waste, violence against nature, and indifference toward life itself.

The Earth is not merely suffering from industrial pollution; it is reflecting the pollution humanity has allowed to accumulate inside. Every poisoned river mirrors poisoned lifestyle. Every burned forest echoes the exhaustion of the human soul disconnected from balance, gratitude, and respect for life.

To truly save the planet, people must begin with self-purification. Clean food, clear thoughts, emotional healing, mindful living, compassion, and conscious choices are not just personal acts; they are environmental acts.

When people detox their bodies, calm their minds, and reconnect with nature, they stop feeding systems that destroy the Earth. A purified human creates less destruction and more harmony.

Which of these detox approaches have you tried - or currently practice? 🌿

Juicing? Fasting? Panchakarma? Colonics? Raw vegan? Herbal cleansing? Intermittent fasting? Yogic shatkarmas? Religious fasting?

There’s a myriad of detox methods and techniques available today - natural, medical, modern trends, time-proven traditions, device-assisted, retreat-based or home-based, independent or expert-guided.

And the truth is: many of them may be helpful. ✨

Before jumping into the next cleanse, challenge, retreat, protocol, or trend, consider these 5 key questions:

1️⃣ Is it natural?
Does it work with the body rather than against it?

2️⃣ Is it addressing the root of the problem?
Or simply managing symptoms temporarily?

3️⃣ Will it bring real, lasting changes to my life?

What a gathering this turned into.

We originally came together to talk about doshas, and somehow found ourselves in a conversation that kept unfolding for over 4 hours 😀 Nobody seemed in a hurry to leave. (Well, some left as they had other real life weekend responsibilities, but the core group persisted).

Honestly, this felt like one of the most thoughtful and engaged groups we’ve had. The questions were deep, people brought real lived experiences, and the discussion naturally moved into so many fascinating places - detox, Ayurveda, doshas, vikriti, gunas, prana, koshas, nadis, samskaras, Vipassana, the Bhagavad Gita, karma, Ayurvedic lineages, the roots of modern medicine… and a lot more.

What made it special wasn’t just the topics, though. It was the atmosphere. People genuinely listened to each other, asked sincere questions, shared openly, and explored ideas together.

It also felt like we may have stumbled onto a really beautiful format for these meetings - relaxed, thoughtful, meaningful, and surprisingly alive.

MAMAs, SPECIAL GIFT for you on MOTHER'S DAY🧘‍♀️

I’m deeply grateful to have participated in the Soul Syndicate’s Mother’s Day podcast, Perfection in Parenthood.

Soul Syndicate is a beautiful collaboration between two amazing women - Ruru and Liuliana (their stage names 😊): moms, creative souls, researchers, seekers, shifters, and transformation engines.

I had the opportunity to speak about universal truths and yogic concepts through the lens of my own experience as a mother. Our conversation centered around the necessity of centering the mind in order to bring more balance into family relationships, navigate generational patterns and vicissitudes, teach children the most essential life skills - mastery of the mind and emotional regulation - and ultimately raise our own level of consciousness. I also shared my best advice for mamas.

The interview is raw, honest, and may not necessarily align with modern views - but... it comes from LIVED experience, sincere inquiry, and deep care.
