Hey everyone in our quest to get restaurant gift cards as raffle prizes we have gotten surprised by some of our followers. Valerie Laplante has donated a liquor and scratch ticket basket and Stacey M Jordan was instrumental in getting the red rose gift card. These will be raffle prizes at the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention walk on October 24th.We truly have some amazing followers. So in addition to restaurants giving gift cards we will gladly accept donations from anyone. I will happily drive anywhere to pick them up. Again this is such an amazing and important cause to us. Just message us if you want to donate. We love our local restaurant community and really love our loyal followers.

The Fatguys recently went to 776 Main St, Willimantic, CT 06226 to try Egg and Cheese. This i small venue in downtown that once inside has lots of kampy and ketchy things implying Buddhism or zen but still not at all serious about it not retracting from the corner breakfast place vibes. After i ordered i was the only customer in the building and they brought out a bag of an order and i looked up and she said 'this isn't for you' in a very hostile positioning and tone. The service the entire time seemed like me being there was a horrid thing let alone me orderinf or waiting for my food. The food was fairly quick and a little pricey but not unreasonably so. We got the Garlic aTruffle oil and arugula sandwich. This consisted of 2 eggs lightlt over easy placed on a toasted everything bagel that seemed a little tough topped with a plentiful amount of arugula, very tasty feta cheese that really stood out, black truffle oil that moistened and elevated the flavor palate, garlic powder that honestly was disappointingly unnoticeable, & allegedly sprinkled with red pepper we also were at a loss to find. The sandwich was standard in size and disproportionately bread to items inside. The sandwhich was definitely better than a fast food one but at $10.75 we were hoping to be a little better and the garlic which honestly what brought us there was missing in a way that screamed at us. They earn and above average 2.5 FATBELLIES rating. For more information check them out in person or online. Below....

Recently the Fatguys went out to Berkshire Pizzeria located at 72 Main St, Charlemont, MA 01339. This is an absolutely charming and surprising restaurant full of character and characters including the Contessa of Calzones.
If she is there get a calzone you will not regret it. There is also a great younger guy at the register who makes sure you are well taken care of. On this outing we did a large pizza and an appetizer.
First were the Charlemont Chips for $5.00.
We received a heaping quantity and even extra to go. Absolutely awesome! These are house made potato chips served darker like a russet served with House Made California Dip consisting of caramelized sweet onions, mayonaise, sour cream & some seasonings. The dip was a small portion but the chips were phenomenal closer to a burnt chip crossed with wedge fries in texture. These were worth every penny.
Next was the
The Sweet Pig Pizza for
$22.00.
This is a subtle balance of sweet and savory and we live for it. The Sweet Pig pizza had some chewy smoky bacon, salty and savory ham, a strong amount of juicy pineapple, and moist juicy fresh tomatoes, all smothered in cheese a medium to thin lightly seasoned signature crust with no noticeable gum layer. It then had a delicous and sweet tangy Polynesian sauce drizzled across it elevating a bold tropical twist. Thus pizza was sensational however diabetics like me be warned. The pricing was rather good, the quantities above average as well, the staff was exceptional and memorable. They earn 4.5 FATBELLIES as a rating. For more information take the ride out and try this slice of heaven or check them out online below...

Recently the Fatguys went out to 270 East St, Ludlow, MA 01056 to final review Ludlow Central Bakery. This place is legendary... We always are concerned about reviewing a community favorite because all too often people look at them with rose colored glasses on. Luckily I think most will be pleased with this posting. The pricing was definitely a slam goal in stoppage time( football/soccer term in honor of the community.) Next the staff was friendly, personable, and fast. The portions were not insane but were generous almost entirely. Now the individual items. The first was the $2.50 cinnamon twist. This was rather large and rather crunchy. It had a strong flavored cinnamon and brown sugar tasting stripe. It was tasty however it left a weird yeast like after taste. The $2.50 apple turnover was absolutely massive and fluffy. It did miss any sugar based top that many do and the apple filling was almost nonexistent. Next was the
Pasteis Nata at$2.30 a piece. They are a
Traditional Portuguese custard filled tart with a moist flaky crust. They were very sweet and delicious. Then there was the tortinhas custard witch was a creamy sugar coated custard log roll. It was sweet almost too much so but good however it stock to your mouth lining. Finally were too of their famous Portuguese rolls. These were airy had a nice dusting and honestly the best part of the trip. I'm very glad I hot 2 because I could chipmunk check a dozen of these large, fluffy, tasty rolls. The entire bill was $$12.69. Go there get rolls and something else and enjoy. Make sure to say the Fat Guy Mindset sent you. They earn 4.5 FATBELLIES as a rating give us the apple filling to get five. Check out below or in person....

Recently the Fatguys went to Holland's Maine Attraction located at 154 Mashapaug Rd, Holland, MA 01521. First was the $7.25 clam chowder cup. This was a good size portion and was creamy.
There wasn't much in it weirdly. Despite not having more than one or two total pieces of either potato or clam the broth was rather good and almost made up for this vacancy. Next was the $11.95 10 pack of jalapeño poppers. These where filled with cheddar cheese and served with ranch for dipping. They were rather large pieces. The cheese was plentiful and good cheddar flavoring. That said the jalapeño was not particularly noticeable and the breading was very rough like a sand paper. We enjoyed them but the breading made them less enjoyable as they could have been. Next was the $19.95 clam strip platter... before you start stripping bashing they outsell whole bellies nation wide 10 to 1 and I personally prefer them as i do not like the gummy texture of the whole bellies. The strips were a plentiful portion and a pretty good pricing. They were meaty yet a little crunchy. They could have been a little crunchier but definitely good. They were served with typical restaurant cole slaw, a very basic pre-made feeling dinner roll and butter pack, as well as French fries. The fries were handcut and a little thick. While they were a bit soft it was in a good way. That said they would have been perfect with some salt while cooking or seasoning. The plate was very filling and a good show. Finally was the $37.95 Fisherman's platter. This is where we have an actual complaint. Food allergies are a very serious deal. We specified a shrimp allergy and it was not documented nor was the request for it not to be in the order applied. Luckily the lost food it touch was nominal and the allergy primarily with ingestion. The whole clams were chewy and thick. They were a tiny bit gritty. The fried haddock was a masterpiece. It was flakey and tender and fell apart as it should. It had the light salty taste and a good batter crust that was not overpowering. The scallops were fried and much like the jalapeños the dough was very thick and had a gap before the scallops. Overall Holland's Maine Attraction scores well above average with 3.5 FATBELLIES as a rating and we will be back and you should too. Check them out below or in person.

Not too long ago the Fatguys went down to Mohegan Sun and while there we gave Bobby's Burgers a try. Now while we know this is a chain... One might assume that anything with a fabulous chef's name on it would produce high quality food and strong concerns to food safety. Our experience stated well with a misleading strong concern to a food allergy when we were discussing what we were considering ordering moments later we ordered and they tried to to have the allergens in the order. Also it is never a good sign when the cooks don't know ingredients in their food. The prices seemed to be fair if slightly high but considering the location elevated prices are sadly expected... until we go the food. First up were the bacon 🥓 cheese 🧀 fries 🍟 for $8.99. These were a small portion of cold soggy chewy seemingly not fully cooked clearly a formerly frozen fries bag and were pretty terrible. The cheese was a low quality nacho cheese like you would expect and a gas station ⛽️. The bacon pieces were few and overcooked however at least they were real. Next were the $6.99 onion 🌰 rings. In the same discussion about and allergy they then gave us a sauce with the allergen in it causing issues. Luckily the amount consumed was exceptionally small. The rings were cold siggy inside and very thick on batter that was crisp and just fell apart. The batter was seasoned pretty good however it was difficult to consume. Then there was the $12.99 palace burger 🍔. Now when you ask a cook level and you even key it into your order system wrong that's not a good start. The burgers were very small and the buns were soggy and squished. The lettuce and tomato 🍅 had that dirty texture as if it had not been rinsed. The pickle was minimal and not particularly juicy. The Bobby's sauce was little more than a few premade sauces mixed together. A burger this poor and small for this price is absurdity. The last item was the $13.99 Brunch burger.
This burger 🍔 had overcooked and seemingly microwaved cold bacon 🥓, a cold over easy eggs 🥚 that had a rubbery microwaved texture. It also had low grade American cheese 🧀. This burger was cold and highly disappointing. The burger was also massively overcooked and while cold still had the burnt texture over a rubbery inside and the signs of a frozen low quality patty near the end of its time. Overall a particular fast food chain makes less pathetic food and doesn't nearly charge as much... How did mister Flay get such a good reputation if this catastrophic is what his name represents. So knowing our metrics.... quality.... less than none... portions... poor.. price... poor.... service dangerous... they score 0 FATBELLIES as a rating and I cannot think of a reason I would ever trust any cooking with Bobby's name on it ever again.
