Some women are not trying to be Superwoman.
They simply learned there was no room to fall apart.
They learned how to keep going, stay composed, care for others, meet expectations, and carry responsibility even when they were tired. And while that strength may have helped them survive, lead, provide, and protect, it can also become costly when it becomes the only way they know how to exist.
My newest blog, “The Cost of Being Superwoman,” explores the hidden weight of always being strong, dependable, and “on”, and how that pressure can affect your peace, body, emotional capacity, rest, and ability to recover.
This conversation centers the Superwoman pattern often experienced by Black women, while also speaking to women from all backgrounds who know what it feels like to carry more than most people realize.
