End of week reflections…
You probably already know that what you do is not who you are. 🚫
But sometimes our brain gets confused and jumbles them together.🤔
But we are not our jobs.🚫
We are not our role at home or in our relationships.🚫
We are not our circumstances.🚫
We are not our health.🚫
We are not our past.🚫
We can have a terrible job or relationship and still be an amazing person.💡
We can have challenging health and a difficult past, and still be terrific.💡
Just because a situation exists, doesn't mean that it dictates how we get to show up.✔️
The situation has absolutely no bearing on who we are.
Who we are is a choice, a choice that can be made intentionally and deliberately. 💥
Focusing on and choosing the person we want to be will ultimately determine what we do within that situation.
Here are some things you can do if you want to increase your sense of who you are:
✔️Don't feel sorry for yourself, look for the lesson to be learned, instead.
✔️Take responsibility for your thoughts, your feelings, and your actions.
✔️Embrace change.
✔️Focus on what you can control - your thoughts, feelings, and actions.
✔️Accept and acknowledge your self-worth.
✔️Let go of the past, live more in the present.
✔️Evaluate your mistakes with compassion and then try again.
✔️Celebrate someone else's success.
✔️Do something to take care of yourself spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.
✔️Spend some time alone in self-reflection.
Being clear on who you are is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
Go ahead. Gift yourself. It doesn’t happen overnight. If you struggle with being fully present, try these tips. I can guarantee from experience that they work and you will be happier for yourself and in your relationships with the added bonus of achieving goals you’ve procrastinated about for soooo long about.
If you need help with getting in a routine or back in a routine of self care through mindset, exercise and nutrition without the overwhelm, I’m here to help! Drop me a PM or comment below and we can connect.
