Do you know how to read that?
People ask me this question at my shop when they see my calligraphy. The answer is, "Yes! I do!". I've been studying the Tibetan language with The Tibetan Language Institute for the last two years. I've completed their Level 1 & 2 language courses and am currently taking their Praise to Tara Reading and Grammar course. Their programs have brought so much joy to my life as I've learned to read and write this beautiful language 🙏 I learned the Tibetan alphabet and how to write the letters through an online program with Tashi Mannox, and have since gone on to study the language.

Tibetan Wind Horse with Tibetan OM:
A mythical creature in Tibetan Buddhism symbolizing good fortune, vitality and the power of the wind. The wind horse carries on his back a flaming jewel that fulfills prayers and wishes. It also symbolizes the inner "wind" or energy of the body and is related to spiritual development. The wind horse is best known for its depiction stamped onto prayer flags, which fly in the wind.

I've been working on a few fun pieces, and getting back to practicing Calligraphy and art after a bit of a hiatus due to being caught up in Tibetan language courses with Lama David Curtis ❤️ I have been having fun stamping these wood block prints and painting them! The Wind Horse, Green Tara and Medicine Buddha wood blocks were hand carved in Nepal, and the Ganesha wood block was a vintage piece I recently purchased.
