The oriental system, Tao (the way), teaches right living. Understanding and integrating your own cycles with those of nature helps to create a whole approach to prevention and healthcare. By taking care to balance the yin and yang elements in your lives and adapting to the changing seasons, you can attain and maintain health.
Nutrition, exercise and herbology, help us to adapt to the changing seasons. The changes brought by each season correlate well with the 5 Element Theory. Each element is important for specific body organs, which can become vulnerable with the new season.
We are currently emerging from winter to spring... the water of winter gives rise to the wood of spring. In spring, we focus on supporting liver and gall bladder. Nature is so kind to offer us dandelions in abundance, which are a perfect support for the liver.
Your Life force, "Chi" or "Prana" depends on sunlight, clean air, pure water, quality food and sleep. As we prepare for spring, may your winter reflections make way for new grow in these areas of health and wellness.
Cheers,
