Some of you will recognize this beautiful artwork as belonging to our friend and fellow athlete, Julie. We love the way she put box balm to work!!
My first experience using box balm. was when I got my most recent tattoo. With previous tattoos, I didn’t have the best healing experience with either of them when I was just using a basic moisturizer/lotion as recommended by my tattoo artist. This new one was going to be much bigger with more detail, have a lot of incredibly vivid and bright colors, and so as a result, I was a little worried. I figured the healing would be so much worse and take longer. Happily, it was the best experience I could probably have with a new tattoo. I started using Box Balm on this new ink immediately—as soon as I removed the bandage. I continued to use a thin layer of application throughout the day to keep it moisturized. I had minimal peeling, no scarring, and only one bout of “tattoo itchies” when I forgot to keep it moisturized. The itchies were immediately calmed by the Box Balm. In just one week (vs. two weeks healing for the older tattoos), this beautiful bright tattoo was set, healed and good to go! I’ve gotten so many compliments on the retention of the color, which I really attest to a quality healing process because of Box Balm. Now, I keep a tin with me in my backpack—so I always have it for my hands now that weather is getting cold.
I’m a member at a CrossFit affiliate gym as well, and having it on hand at the gym to use immediately after a hand rip or tear makes the process of hand healing much faster too.
