✨This one shift completely changed how my kid eats fruits and vegetables.

I used to dread taking my child to the grocery store bc it was a lot of work. He would ask for all the things and my shopping trip would be at least 50% longer.

Then I did a simple mindset shift. What if I let him pick all the produce and what's for dinner that night?

* Magic happened + now I just gave the control back to my picky eater. And guess what? When he would see the fruits or vegetables on the plate, he became more opt to try "his picks".

🥑When kids get to choose their food, their brain shifts from feeling controlled to feeling empowered.
That sense of autonomy activates curiosity instead of resistance.
Here's what's happening behind the scenes:

• Ownership: When a child picks the apple or broccoli themselves, it becomes their choice-not a rule being enforced. Kids naturally want to follow through on decisions they make.

• Reduced power struggles: Food battles aren't about the food-they're about control. Choice removes the fight.

• Confidence + trust: Allowing kids to choose builds confidence in their ability to listen to their body and trust food.

• Exposure without pressure: Even if they don't eat it right away, touching, smelling, and choosing produce increases familiarity-an essential step toward acceptance.

• Long-term healthy habits: Autonomy supports self-regulation, which is linked to healthier eating patterns later in life.

✨White Bean Salad ✨

My new favorite way to get more fiber, more color and more satisfaction to meal time!

✨Recipe:
2 cucumbers
1/2 to 1 pint grape or cherry tomatoes
1/2 can black olives
1 cup (or more) shredded carrots
1/4 sliced and/or diced red onion
Seasonings to your 💜s Desire: oregano, salt, pepper, nutritional yeast
Seeds: h**p, chia, flax whatever you want to add
Dressing: add a little olive oil and some juice of your olives

✨Prepare:
Wash, chop, season, stir

✨Enjoy
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Add your protein of choice, maybe a little feta if you want as a meal and enjoy how it is as a side dish to your meal. Sides don’t have to be complicated!

Now, go grab your veggies and eat your fiber friends! Your gut bugs and your waistline will thank you later ✌️

Leading up to the full Junior Triathlon, scheduled for April 21, triathlon coaches and experienced local triathletes will demonstrate skills to teach and improve your child's experience on race day. Open to kids of ALL abilities, ages 5 to 13. (You do not have to commit to racing on April 21 in order to participate this Sunday)

✨Today I FINALLY made kombucha! Lavender Mint to be exact!

💜I feel like it’s an ode to my oil passion from a few years ago bc I felt like I was always dabbling in lavender oil and fresh lavender buds from Gigi's Lavender!

Today I’ve merged lavender love to my nutrition world all thanks to a beautiful friend for her lovely Scoby and instructions!

Kombucha is full of tons of little bacteria that benefit your gut microbiome! Bc you know I love me some microbiome research! 🔬

🤓Stay tuned for the outcome of the final product and passage of the Scoby for new kombucha enthusiasts

✨When you take the time to slow down, you start to appreciate what you never experienced before

One topic I like to discuss with my clients is being present and mindful in all the things they do. That could be eating, how they spend their time, checking in with their bodies, the daily routine, walking outdoors, etc.

When we start slowing down, the world around us unfolds her beauty. 🌺 We notice more. And we can be appreciative and grateful for what we have experience.

Being aware and mindful of what we do during the day can have the most beautiful positive effects on our mind, body and spirit. 🫶🏼 it can help us to create healthier habits and to really listen to our bodies.

✨Keep your peace this holiday season. Here are some ideas on how to say “No” from Sh*tts Creek. 😂

If you are a recovering people pleaser, like me, the best advice I was given from an elder was to go to the mirror and practice saying “No” until you feel comfortable doing it in person.
