For the record, I am completely appalled, repelled and disgusted by the overt hubris, hatred, bigotry and violence enacted on a daily basis in the name of my country of origin, led by a pig of a man who somehow managed to dupe a significant number of citizens to support him.

My mother's political activism and awareness taught me from a young age of the privileged life I was born into. Despite that, I find myself on a major learning curve here in Southeast Asia, about things I’ve still taken for granted: Like clean drinking water, standardized sanitation and childhood innoculations - the last brought to light today as I care for a friend experiencing a recurring bout of what is most likely Typhoid Fever suffered since childhood by many Cambodians from rural areas. Inspiration. Implementation. Gratitude 🙏❤️🙏

In May, I ventured to Southeast Asia for the first time, visiting Thailand, Vietnam & Cambodia. In September, I returned, including Laos in my itinerary. Now, three annual songwriting festivals have been launched, all raising money for local charities and including the first Listening Room events in Siem Reap & Phnom Penh. 🙏❤️🙏

GRATITUDE: Those who know me well know I keep an ongoing daily gratitude list, reflecting on and writing down the many moments of grace that make up every waking day...I start with gratitude for the blessing of waking to the gift of another day of life...in a currently healthy body...with ample shelter, food & clean water. With freedom of movement to travel, and many friends long known and yet to meet, as well as every passing smile shared along the way... The ongoing blessing of Liva and the honor of being a parent and her father...and the gift of being able to share my songs with listeners around the world. As my age progresses, I'm ever more grateful for all these blessings and experiences within the gift of life, heightened in beauty by knowing all this will one day end, as all things do. And if you are reading this and have followed me this far, I am grateful for you too. 🙏❤️🙏
